We have customized our 29’ Beachcraft open style aluminum boat to maximize comfort and functionality while we fish Salmon using trolling, mooching, jigging and casting rigs.

Typically we can troll and cut-plug mooch 4 rods at the same time, while also casting and jigging with up to 4 additional rods. This method allows us to put the maximum amount of hooks in the water and to fish the entire water column with maximum efficiency, you are sure to be impressed with how much action can be found by using this team effort.

Salmon Fishing on Vancouver Island is a cultural right of passage for us locals, after years of perfecting our methods and unique fishing styles it is an honour to share the accumulated wisdom with people that share an interest in chasing Canada’s most respected sportfish in the waters around Vancouver Island.

5 Hour Trip on September 11, 2025 • 7 adults

Captain Bradan was a phenomenal guide for our group of seven! He was incredibly knowledgeable about the waters around Sooke. He took our group who basically had never fished before and taught us all about how to fish for coho and chinook, about how the tides affect where the salmon will be, and all about the local ecosystem. We caught dozens of fish and walked away with tons of coho, a chinook, prawns, crabs, and sea urchins! Bradan is a genuine guy who's passionate about fishing and the natural world out here. If you're looking to catch salmon, learn about fishing and the ocean, and have a laid back day, book with captain Bradan! We saw an orca too!

Fantastic Captain and Boat for Large Family Group

3 Hour Trip on July 28, 2025 • 6 adults • 1 child

We booked Bradan’s charter in late July and it was fantastic. We had a family group of 7 and it was the only boat we could find that could handle that many people. Bradan was a great guide. For a bunch of novices he explained everything in an easy to understand way and was extremely patient with our 4 year old son; answering all of his questions about fishing. And oh yeah, we caught a bunch of fish. Bradan really knows the area so we did some fishing in a “big fish” area and then back to an area he knew we were sure to catch some salmon. In all we caught 8 salmon, including an 18 pound chinook, and kept 5 of them. Bradan filleted and cleaned the fish as well. We had a great time and will definitely do it next time we visit.

Eco tour & Fishing both Excellent!

Had an amazing outing with Capt Braden - in addition to great boat skills, Capt. Braden is passionate about and knowledgeable of the area and its natural history elements. We were lucky early in the trip to encounter a transient orca pod that regularly traverses the coast hunting seal - amazing to see! Came home with a salmon supper we caught & a handful of shrimp from Capt. Braden’s trap. Ended the day with an amazing bald eagle sighting. Beautiful, saw so much, learned so much, caught dinner - and Capt. Braden’s super nice. We couldn’t have asked for more!

My trip with Captain Braden was absolute perfection. I brought my boys and family visiting from Toronto. My youngest son was super excited with lots of questions, and Captain Braden treated him so well, I do not even have the words. We caught 8 salmon in total and two crabs! It was a perfect day with the perfect Captain. Thank you Braden, I appreciate you and the entire experience on the water. It was a first for all of us and hopefully not the last!

Captain Bradan was very accommodating to our group of 7

3 Hour trip – Crabbing & Prawning on August 23, 2025 • 5 adults • 2 children

Bradan, great helper with catching some salmon and some crabs. We were able to go early before of the ferry coming back to Vancouver and waited for us to pick up some lunch on the boat. We got 8 salmon, one of them was white chinook salmon. A dozen of crabs. Mostly red rocks. A lot of female Dungeness crabs. We would like to do this an annual thing for next year. Thank you Captain Bradan!
