Species like Cobia, Redfish, Black Seabass, Black Drum, Bluefish, Sheepshead, Speckled Trout, and more are in the cards, depending on when you go. During the trip you might be light tackle fishing, popping, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Stirling also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Don't forget to bring snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
Your fishing machine for the day is a 20' Jones Brothers Cape Fisherman center console with space for 3 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
It's always wise to bring sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Fished with Captain Wes out of Hoboken and had the time of my life. This man knows how to fish. Kept me laughing the whole time. I also caught the fish of a lifetime while on his boat. 40 lb. Drum. I will definitely be fishing with Captain Wes again in the future. If you are interested in a great day on the water and catching plenty of fish, contact Captain Wes for a trip. You will not be disappointed.

Always a great time with you brother.

Captain Wes is extremely knowledgeable and you are guaranteed to have a great time and some good laughs. I highly recommend using him for a guided trip . You will not be disappointed .

Nothing like fishing with you and the boys. A laugh a minute and we caught trout. Looking forward to the next trip.
Amazing fishing trip with tons of inshore trophies.

Fishing my whole life, I decided to step up my game and start a guiding career in Alaska. I fished and worked in various lodges and employed various techniques for 21 years. From fly fishing fickle rainbows to jigging for monster halibut, I truly enjoyed my Alaska guiding experience. I now pursue the inshore game fish that captivated my NC youth. From flounder and speckled trout to huge redfish, my Summer and Fall is now spent on coastal water from Southport to Pamlico Sound.
