Spend the day with Fishing Boat Trips and get hooked on fishing in Ramsgate! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Wally can tell you all about the local fishery.
European Seabass, Nursehound (Bull Huss), Dogfish, Flounder, and more inhabit these waters, depending on the season. You’ll target your catch by light tackle fishing, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Don’t forget to bring snacks to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!
Your trip begins aboard the Dominator, a 36’ Starfish 10 sportfishing vessel that holds up to 8 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Wally will provide rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates often work for tips and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
Before coming aboard, it will be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
A few items to bring include sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks available on board.
The click of a button is the only thing keeping you from a great day on the water with Fishing Boat Trips!
