Spend the day with Castaway STA and get hooked on fishing in St. Augustine! Your guide for the day is Captain Joe, allowing you to benefit from over 20 years of knowledge and experience.

You're likely to go after Redfish, Amberjack, Flounder, Black Grouper, Cobia, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Black Drum, Vermilion Snapper, Lane Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, and more, depending on conditions.

On the day of your trip you're likely to bottom fish targeting the best fishing using the appropriate gear and tackle. You may also troll depending on the current species which are in season.

You'll step aboard a fully equipped Mako Twin Engine 24' Center console that can carry up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, and everything you need for a productive day on the water. I have a very private 'Poddy' set-up on board, blocked from view, in the forward bow section of the boat for your convenience.

All of your fishing rods, reels, bait, tackle, and a cooler filled with Ice for you to store your sandwiches, drinks and snacks, are provided. All of the fishing licenses for the entire party are covered by charter captains license. The Captain will clean and pack on ice any legal catch you would like to take home.

It's always wise to bring bottled water, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Captain Joe will keep you updated with current weather conditions and what to expect prior to departure.

Great Family Trip!

4 Hour Trip – Inshore Morning on April 25, 2026 • 4 adults • 2 children

Took my kids (7 and 8) and parents (81 and 78) out for a half day both nearshore and inshore fishing with Captain Joe. Not only did he put us on fish he was very accommodating to both the youngins and the grandparents. We all caught fish including red fish, trout, drum, whiting and cat. He even cleaned the fish for us after the trip to take home and eat! Highly recommend this trip to those of all ages and experience.

3 Hour Trip – Offshore (AM) on May 6, 2025 • 2 adults • 3 children

Captain Joe is AMAZING and created a wonderful experience for my family to get their sea legs!! My husband and I took our three kiddos, ages 16,13,and 10, on their first deep sea fishing trip. All three children had a blast beginning with a fantastic ride out to our fishing spot, spotting a pod of dolphins along the way, and finally stopping over a jackpot of snapper. As soon as our lines were dropped, we had fish on. Captain Joe pivoted from one kid to the next baiting, helping and teaching. My husband had a great time as well, as this was his first trip too. I got a little sea sick, and captain joe was ready with ginger ale and water! While fishing, we saw a MASSIVE turtle. 80 years old at least! It was truly such a wonderful time and memories were made! Our youngest said “Captain Joe was the best!,” and he was right! All three kids talked about the trip and captain joe for the rest of the day. We will be back to fish with him!

His boat was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable, making it a great setup for a half-day trip. My son has Down’s Syndrome and Capt. Joe took the time to teach him how to cast and reel, celebrating every moment with genuine enthusiasm. My son landed his first fish. Fantastic Day!

6 Hour Trip – Offshore on July 1, 2025 • 6 adults

Captain Joe was amazing! He took us to some fantastic spots and helped us have an unforgettable time! We caught a LOT of fish! Made my dad’s day with all the fish he caught! Including the fights with the big ones that snapped the lines! He’s still bragging about it! Got some of the most incredible pictures for our trip! It was phenomenal! Great experience with the best captain

Captain Joe went above and beyond to make sure my 2 sons, my wife and myself had a more than excellent experience on the water. Not only a great captain but also a great guy. We caught lots of fish in multiple spots and learned a lot while at sea. Anyone on the fence about doing a charter with your family don’t hesitate to book with Joe.
