Spend the day with Castaway STA and get hooked on fishing in St. Augustine! Your guide for the day is Captain Joe, allowing you to benefit from over 20 years of knowledge and experience.
You're likely to go after Redfish, Amberjack, Flounder, Grouper, Cobia, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Black Drum, Vermilion Snapper, Lane Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, and more, depending on conditions.
On the day of your trip you're likely to bottom fish targeting the best fishing using the appropriate gear and tackle. You may also troll depending on the current species which are in season.
You'll step aboard a fully equipped 2023 SEA HUNT 26 foot Center console that can carry up to 4 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. I have a 'Poddy' set-up on board, blocked from view, in the forward bow section of the boat for your convenience.
All of your fishing rods, reels, bait, tackle, and a cooler filled with Ice for you to store your sandwiches, drinks and snacks, are provided. All of the fishing licenses for the entire party are covered by charter captains license. The Captain will clean and pack on ice any legal catch you would like to take home.
It's always wise to bring bottled water, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Captain Joe will keep you updated with current weather conditions and what to expect prior to departure.

We met Capt. Joe at the dock and from there our adventure began. We wanted our son to experience ocean fishing and have the chance to reel in whatever the sea would provide. Capt. Joe did his best to accommodate and we couldnt have asked for a nicer experience. We highly recommend booking with Capt. Joe as he is personable and knowledgable about all things St. Augustine and fishing. His boat is fully equipped and well taken care of. Most importantly, his communication is excellent, before, during and after the excursion. If youre looking for a great day on the water with an excellent captain that listens and accommodates, then Capt. Joe is your guy. We’ll definitely be coming back.

We had Captain Joe take us out on a beautiful Friday morning trip to celebrate my girlfriends 40th birthday! This was THE best fishing charter we have ever had! We caught over a dozen fish and Captain Joe made the experience one to remember! He was clearly very experienced and made sure we felt comfortable and made every effort to give us the best experience possible. I highly recommend Captain Joe!
Had an amazing day of fishing with Captain Joe of Castaway STA. Enjoyed the boat ride to several locations. He found the fish and once the bites slowed we moved on. Caught many "keepers" and he even recommended a few places that would cook your catch. Literally ate what Capt Joe cleaned for us within 30 minutes of leaving boat ramp. Highly recommend for family/ friends.
Took my kids (7 and 8) and parents (81 and 78) out for a half day both nearshore and inshore fishing with Captain Joe. Not only did he put us on fish he was very accommodating to both the youngins and the grandparents. We all caught fish including red fish, trout, drum, whiting and cat. He even cleaned the fish for us after the trip to take home and eat! Highly recommend this trip to those of all ages and experience.
Had a great time with captain Joe! My wife was pregnant and he was very accommodating and made sure the ride was smooth. We fished in-shore for that reason as well and got to enjoy some nice St. Augustine views. Overall had a great day!
