Ft. Lauderdale has a fish with your name on it, so let Capt. Matt Fann and the Fish Advisor help you catch it! With Captain Matt at the helm, you’re in knowledgeable and experienced hands. Captain Matt Fann has 25 years of local experience fishing in ft Lauderdale,fla and is a Florida native!
These waters are home to Sailfish, Barracuda, Wahoo, Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, sharks and more if conditions are right. These species are all dependent on the trip that you choose. You’ll target your catch by spinning, trolling, drifting, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Your day begins aboard a 34’ Avanti center console with room for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There is full sized restroom onboard for your convenience. As well as a full stereo system complete with Bluetooth 🎶.
Capt. Matt has rods and reels for you.
Live bait is optional and subject to availability. Speak with Captain Matt when reserving your trip to see if live bait will be necessary.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.
It’s always wise to bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), and whatever you would like to eat or drink. Beer is allowed but in cans only and no hard liquor!

I was looking for a private fishing charter for 4 people. After making several phone calls, I located Captain Matthew Fann. Matt was a pleasure to deal with and we had a great time. He is friendly and knowledgeable. His 25 years of running charters really shows. We tried different areas until he started catching fish. At the end, he fileted the fish and dropped us off at a restaurant that will cook the fish we caught. Overall, we had a great experience.

Fished all my life, but first time fishing south Florida. Brought my 6 year old daughter for her first ocean trip ever. Chose Fish Advisor almost at random the day before our trip. Matt had a clean boat, good gear, but most of all knew how to use them. He shared with us the details about our fishing methods and tactics, which made us feel more informed and invested in the hunt. We hooked, fought, and safely released a beautiful 7 foot sailfish as the highlight of the trip. Matt was quick to shoot a video of the fish, which was really important for me. He was really nice to my daughter, and embellished her with a celebratory “full-blast” ride back to the marina at the conclusion of our trip. We’ll be back. Thanks Matt!

Outstanding Fishing Trip From Start to Finish!

Thank you Captain Matt for the fantastic fishing trip with my son and I. This was only his second time fishing and you gave him a memory that will last a lifetime. The Fish Advisor was in immaculate condition, and Matt’s entire operation is first class. Not only was Matt very personable and engaging (we had a great conversation on a number of different topics during the trip) but I learned more about open water/deep sea fishing on the four hour charter than I have in over fifty years of fishing. Best of all we landed a variety of fish, including a beautiful 10 pound Mahi caught by son. If you’re in South Florida and want an unforgettable fishing experience, I cannot recommend Captain Matt Fann and the Fish Advisor enough. Five out of Five stars!!
