Excited to catch some fish in Destin? Kraken Reels is here to make it happen! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Jonathan can tell you all about them.
Species like Red Grouper, Mahi Mahi, Gray Triggerfish, Lane Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Sailfish, Wahoo, Bonito, Black Grouper, Gag Grouper, and more inhabit these waters, depending on the season. On the day of your trip you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Trips with Kraken Reels are open to the whole family, so feel free to make a family day out of it! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Feel free to bring your own snacks!
Capt. Jonathan operates a 50’ Chris-Craft sportfishing vessel with capacity for 6 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is available, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
It’s always wise to bring bottled water, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Now, time to hit the water with Kraken Reels!
