If you plan on fishing in Morehead City, look no further than Unreel Sportfishing. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Mark knows them forwards and back.
Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, Red Snapper, Amberjack, Spanish Mackerel, Vermilion Snapper, and more can be found in these waters if you cast your line at the right time of year. On the day of your trip you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
You’ll be welcome aboard a 27’ Cape Horn center console with space for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, and a full complement of safety gear including EPIRB, PLB, and Sirius XM Weather. All the essentials necessary for a fun, safe, and productive day of fishing. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods, reels, and all the tackle for the day.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. It’s customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
You will need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It’s never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, and a hat. Dress appropriately for the weather. Even if it is clear there may be some spray so wet weather gear is not a bad idea. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Your trip with Unreel Sportfishing is just a click away, so why not make it happen?
