We targeted Cobia and Mangrove snapper as the Red snapper season just closed the weekend before our scheduled date. We caught our Cobia right away, so we targeted Mangrove snapper and any bonus fish. We caught numerous Big bull Reds well over slot and one that was under slot to keep. Caught plenty of Mangrove snapper, Sheepshead, one Pompano, a few Spanish Mackerel, and a shark. We have plenty of fresh fish for the freezer to enjoy.

Chris is, hands down, the best captain and always has the best deck hands. He makes you feel comfortable the entire trip and the conversations you can have with him are hilarious. He supplies bait and all equipment needed for a great experience. Throughout the trip, Chris is an amazing person to chat and hangout with. He happily answers any questions you may have about quite literally anything. He, along with his crew, baits your lines, takes the fish off the hook, assists in reeling in (if needed), fixes poles if lines need snapping, and guides you to different locations. He makes you feel like family from the second you step onto his boat, until the moment you step off. It truly is an amazing experience, in and of itself, but Chris makes the experience that much better, with his incredible personality and knowledge of fishing. It is undeniable, the amount of love he has for the game. At the end of the trip, he cleans the fish and bags them up based on the type of fish it is. He gives recommendations on how to cook the fish and what dishes they taste the best in. As a side note- His boat remains clean. He takes pride in his belongings and keeps the boat free of trash and clutter as the trip continues to ensure the best experience for everyone. This was my second time going with Chris and I don’t think I will ever choose anyone else. He made a very good impression on me the first time and I just had to come back! my 16 y/o son and his friend and I really enjoyed this trip and caught a lot of fish. captain and first mate took care of everything for us. the boat was the perfect size for 6 fishermen plus the captain and first mate. this trip is perfect for beginners as well as experienced fishermen. we caught lots of red snapper plus white trout, almaco jack, lane snapper, and more. even a huge shark and a huge bull red that were released. i highly recommend.

Issues came up with the boat, but Captain Chris Beard was on top of it like a champ. instead of canceling our trip he set us up with a backup at Geaux Fishing Charter with Captain Trampus Wagoner. We had a blast and caught 30+ sheephead, drum, mangrove, and I forgot the name of the other fish. I would 100% recommend both Captains and both charters if you want to do inshore or offshore fishing.

Captain Chris and his deckhand were very friendly and professional and put our crew on fish despite some trying weather conditions. i would recommend Animus, and will use them again in the future.
