Mario's Fishing Mission invites you to experience the stunning waters of Rockport. With Captain Mario at the helm, you're in knowledgeable and experienced hands to explore the waters of Copano Bay.
Flounder, Speckled Trout, Black Drum, Redfish, and more inhabit these waters if you come at the right time of year. For these species, you're likely to troll using light tackle.
Young ones are welcome, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. And, you can't go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly!
You'll be casting lines from a 20' Shoalwater bay boat with room for 3 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
You will need to supply fishing license for the day , so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
Don't forget to bring sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Our original guide canceled last minute, but Captain Mario stepped in and was extremely patient and accommodating. We were so blessed he was available for a PM trip that same day. Despite a rain delay, he stayed calm and professional the entire time. This was my kids’ first saltwater fishing trip, and Mario was wonderfully attentive to them the whole outing. He worked hard to put us on fish and truly made the experience special. My 11-year-old even landed a beautiful 27.5-inch redfish! We’ll definitely book with Captain Mario again. If you’re looking for a patient, kid-friendly, hardworking captain who goes the extra mile, look no further.

We had an incredible wade fishing trip with Captain Mario. We caught 5 large redfish and it was my wife’s first time fishing in the ocean for large fish. She was nervous about getting in the water and Mario handled it perfectly. He made her feel completely comfortable and even let her fish from the boat while I waded. She had an absolute blast. Mario was extremely knowledgeable, patient and truly cared about our experience. It was cold and he came prepared with hand warmers for both of us. I forgot my sunglasses and he had an extra pair for me. He also gave my wife a face mask and a warm coat to make sure she stayed comfortable. He put us on fish and went above and beyond in every way. We had a great time and will definitely be back to book another trip with him. Highly recommend Captain Mario.

Mario put us on the fish despite mixed fishing reports. We caught quite a few keeper drum. We also caught a red, spec, and few other mixed species. Mario kept us moving when the bite would start to slow. He had plenty of bait and good equipment. We didnt get our limit of keepers but we probably caught over 30 fish. I enjoyed the good conversation and I would fish with him again!

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
