On the day of your trip you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light tackle. Capt. Jaime also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Capitán Hook welcomes kids aboard, so feel free to make a family day out of it! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. You're welcome to bring snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
You'll be fishing aboard a 25' Van Diaz Panga with room for 3 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures.
You will need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's recommended to bring sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Water will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

This is our second year fishing with Poncho on his boat, Captain Hook. Last year we caught a lot of yellow tail tuna and this year we caught several marlin and a Dorado. We also caught a couple of sharks....and a family of dolphins swam and played near the boat. Captain Poncho is soft spoken, hardworking and patient. He has provided wonderful trips and we look forward to connecting with him again next year when we come to Cabo. Thank you again!
Captain Jimmy got us tight on Rooster fish withun the first 5 minutes putting out lines. we totalled 5 fish on live bait. Trolled for the last hour for Mahi but the winds picked up. A successful charter. Captain was great, knowledgeable absolutely recommend!
