Capt. Nelson runs a 27' Roatan Honduras panga with room for 6 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Capt. Nelson will provide rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
You will need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's recommended to bring sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks included on board.

I had a fantastic day in Roatán with Nelson from Splash Dash! Nelson communicated with me really well before and throughout the trip, and he was right on time picking us up at the cruise port. He also made sure we got back with plenty of time to spare before the ship departed. We spent the day trolling for mahi-mahi and wahoo, enjoyed some wonderful snorkeling, and had a great lunch at a local restaurant. We didn’t end up catching any fish, but honestly, that didn’t take away from the experience. We learned a lot about fishing in the area, enjoyed being out on the water, and had a great time as a family. Nelson was knowledgeable, friendly, dependable, and made the entire day easy and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend Splash Dash to anyone looking for a fishing and snorkeling adventure in Roatán!
