If you're ready to enjoy fishing in Panama City, we've got you covered with Grocery Gettin Charters. Captain Jack will be your guide, which allows you to benefit from years of knowledge and experience.
Depending on the season, you might hook into a Gag Grouper, Mangrove Snapper, Red Snapper, Vermilion Snapper, Amberjack, Gray Triggerfish, Red Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Spanish Mackerel, and who knows what else! On these trips, it's common to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Don't forget to bring snacks to stay fueled throughout your trip!
Your adventure begins aboard a 32' Pro-Line walkaround with space for 6 passengers. It has all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there (depending on availability) to make sure everything is running smoothly. If not, Captain Jack will make sure everything goes as planned. It's customary to tip the Mate or Captain 15–20% to show your appreciation.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
Don't leave home without sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

6 Hour Trip on August 19, 2026 • 6 adultsHad a 6 hour trip with a party of 6. Captain Jack’s 30’ boat with twin 300 hp engines got us to the fishing grounds in quick order. We wanted to try the Red Snapper bite, and since Capt. Jack has a federal license we fished the federal waters for them, and quickly found success. We caught numerous Red Snappers, but had to release more than 14, which was still a great time. The trigger fish were also hot and we caught many doubles, and released at least 15. We also put a few beeliners in the box. The Little Tuna created contolled chaos several times and were huge and hard fighting. The sharks also came to eat as well, and snatched our baits several times, including at the very end where we took turns fighting a big one which eventually broke off. Captin Jack’s boat made easy time of the ride back, where he cleaned the fish, and we are preparing a feast as I type this recommendation! I would definitely fish with Captain Jack again, and you should see Captain Jack if you are interested in an off shore trip into the federal waters!

Spring break 4 hour special offer! on March 19, 2025 • 4 adultsWhat a great day on the water with Capt Jack. We arrived at their private dock to get the morning started they had the boat ready to go we made a nice run out about 8 miles and started fishing within the first cast we were hooked up it was hot and heavy for the rest of the trip we limited out on some snapper and moved to catching trigger fish and mango snapper then caught a few nice grouper and even hooked up with a shark we had a blast. Thanks again.

8 Hour Trip on July 13, 2024I booked a 8hr. Trip with Capt. Jack and Grocery Gettin Charters for my Son , Father in law and myself. We had a wonderful time, Capt. Jack was very friendly, professional and put us on the fish all day ! We caught Red Snapper - Mahi and a lot of others in between. I can’t forget to mention our stay at East Bay Fishing village that was included in our charter . We had a great stay at the fishing village, being picked up for our charter right from there private dock was very convenient . After our charter Captain Jack brought us back and cleaned our fresh fish for us right at the dock. They had bbq. Grills right on there private beach where we cooked up our catch from the day . We had a Wonderful Time and we will definitely be going back! Highly Recommended! Captain Jack and East Bay fishing village won’t disappoint!

8 Hour Trip on February 9, 2025Captain Jack know what he is doing. He had us on the fish having us catch fish all day. We caught some big ones with his help. Very professional and very friendly. The stay at east bay fishing village that is included in the charter was amazing. Once we got back to the village Captain Jack filleted the fish and we cooked them fresh that night for dinner. We will definitely be going back and going fishing with Grocery Gettin and Captain Jack again. Highly recommend G

8 Hour Trip on October 13, 2024Man what a trip!! First off, take the 8 hour and above because you get a free night at the best spot in the city! Private Inner coastal area that my wife enjoyed while me and my boy went out with CPT Jack. She recommends staying at their lodge any time of the year it’s so beautiful! CPT Jack was not only professional but Super Fun! My son loved spending time with him. Grocery Gettin Charters I’d definitely family friendly! He was super helpful with my son and I teaching us the ropes as we have never fished before! I learned a lot and bought a great rod and reel that Jack recommended so I can take it home to continue this new found love thanks to Jack! We are definitely going to be taking another trip out here this summer with my family to get the big fish!

Captain Jack is the owner of Grocery Gettin Charters. Jack has loved to fish since he can remember and decided to turn that passion into a career. Jack started pursuing his dream when he was 18 years old and moved to Panama City Beach. His family has owned a home there since he was 2 years old, and he has been taking his family boat out alone since he was 14 years old. Captain Jack started as a mate on several different charter boats of all sizes. He eventually earned enough sea time to get his USCG captain's license. Jack has fished all along the coasts of Florida and has studied the industry religiously, gaining knowledge and experience to be the best captain he can be. Captain Jack most recently spent a year in Jacksonville, learning the northeast coast of Florida. He had an excellent season there, but decided it was time to move home to fulfill his dreams of creating, owning, and running his charter in Panama City Beach.
