Our Icy Strait Point fishing tour is designed for cruise passengers that are looking for an Alaskan excursion that is off the beaten path. We’ll depart from the port entrance and drive through the Alaska Native Tlingit village of Hoonah, then travel on logging roads that will take us to a remote river. During the ride and along the river it is common to spot wildlife- the island has more brown bears per square mile than almost anywhere else on the planet.
We’ll be fishing a wild “last frontier” type area with little signs of civilization to be found. As we fish and hike along the river, you will be amazed by the landscapes that surround us. Depending on the time of year, we’ll fish for Salmon and/or Trout. You will have the choice between spin fishing (no prior experience required) or fly fishing (basic casting skills recommended).
Fishing near Icy Strait Point allows you to check an activity off your bucket list while exploring the nature and wildlife around the beautiful Tongass National Forest. We may even have the chance to watch salmon spawn and pick wild berries. Guests on our full day tour will be given the option to cook and eat their catch during the excursion.
We often check in with our guests after their cruise to see how the rest of their trip went. Almost every guest tells us that THIS TOUR was the highlight of their whole cruise. Are you ready to NatVenture with us? Fishing isn't just about casting another line – it's a whole experience, and Natventure Tours is here to offer exactly that!
FLEXIBLE DEPARTURE TIME: Together we can pick a departure time depending on the schedule of your cruise ship.
