My sons Drew (18) and Truitt (13) and I just got back from a 5.5-hour trip with Captain Doug, and it was an absolute blast. First time fishing Back Bay for all of us, and Doug made sure it was one to remember. We loaded up on crappie — 20+ fish — plus 3 bass and a perch. Doug knew exactly where to put us and kept us on fish the whole time. He was energetic, positive, and genuinely excited every time one of us hooked up. He had nothing but great things to say to the boys, which meant a lot as a dad watching your kids light up out on the water. Highlight of the trip: Truitt and I hooked fish at the exact same time. Pure chaos, best kind. We also managed to “catch” a duck blind a few times — Doug was a good sport about it. He even serenaded us a little while we fished. He made sure we got great photos, and then texted me afterward just to say thanks. That’s the kind of guy he is. Total pro who clearly loves what he does and knows Back Bay inside and out. We’ll be back. Don’t hesitate to book with Doug.

Great time!
The Bay is a stunning location to fish and our captain, Doug, was a literal fount of knowledge and experience for my husband and I on our first experience fishing from a boat. Doug was warm, professional, and helped us feel comfortable about handling the equipment. He taught us so much about the ecosystem of the area and history of the Bay. If you are a beginner, I would absolutely recommend this experience! My husband is delighted to be eating our catch for dinner tonight and we look forward to bringing our other family members with Doug in the future. 10/10 recommend.

Thank you so much!
Meeting location was very easy to find. CAPT gave us a quick rundown of safety equipment and we got out on the water quickly. Our 7 year old son had a blast catching crappie after crappie with a bass and 2 foot catfish to top off his day. All total we managed over a dozen solid sized fish to turn into meals with myself and my wife catching more crappie and bass. CAPT was extremely kind and patient with our beginner fisherman and we highly recommend for families looking for a great day on the water. We’ll be going back next year.

Awesome time!
This was an excellent fishing trip. Very friendly Captain with over 50 years fishing in the Back Bay. He shared lots of great stories of the area and knew where the fish were and when they would bite. We caught Crappie, Bass and Catfish. He supplied sunscreen and water and was very attentive to ensure we were comfortable and had a great experience. I definitely recommend this charter.

Had a great time look forward to you guys coming back!

we went out on the bay in not ideal conditions for fishing but captain zack made sure we all got on some fish and when they werent biting he kept us entertained and showed us around the bay and even took us to obx NC to see the wild horses it was a great time. wold do it again highly recommend him for your next charter!
