- Background
- Capt. Zachary Humphrey is your guide to an unforgettable fishing adventure in the waters of Virginia Beach, Virginia. I grew up on Back Bay in the past few years the fishing has been better than I have seen in the past 30 years. I am active-duty Coast Guard I am starting to do charters this year so I am start building a reputation so that when I retire this can be my full-time job. The fishing changes from year to year some years we catch more freshwater fish while other years we catch more saltwater fish. Each day brings a different opportunity for different species. Let me give you a chance to experience what Back Bay has to offer. YOU MUST HAVE A VA FISHING LICENSE! Due to the state not having a license to cover the boat and eveyone on it you will have to have your own license which you can get just a one day if need be. Weather depended we will fish may ways such as bottom fishing, spinning, popping, or something unique to the area. If you wanna just have a fun fishing trip with the kids, we can put jug lines out and catch catfish which is super exciting for everyone. The only way to learn is to join them on the water.
- Techniques
- What every you would like. My preferred way when the water is warm enough is wade fishing, we go out to the flats anchor the boat and wade the whole flat or we can troll with the trolling motor if you are not comfortable getting in the water. In the spring we fish duck blinds fishing for crappie, white perch this entails just running between duck blinds and small islands casting to find the fish and when we find them we anchor out fish as long as needed. Other times we can anchor out in holes and bottom fish really just depends what you are looking to do.
