Depending on the season, you might hook into Roosterfish, Striped Marlin, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Sailfish, Little Tunny (False Albacore), Black Marlin, Almaco Jack, Hammerhead Shark, Broomtail Grouper, Jack Crevalle, Blue Marlin, Cubera Snapper, and whatever else takes the bait.
You'll target your catch by spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Carlos can also have you kite fishing. For the more adventurous among you, there's bowfishing.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks to keep up those energy levels!
Capt. Carlos runs a 27' Center console with space for 5 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.
Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. It's customary to tip the crew 10–20% to show your appreciation.
Before coming aboard, it may be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don't leave home without bottled water, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks available on board.
