You'll be welcome aboard a 39' Pursuit sportfishing vessel with capacity for 6 passengers. It comes with downriggers, and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.
You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
Cockpit grill for cooking while you fish
You will need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's never a bad idea to bring lunch, drinks, sunscreen (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

We had a great day fishing for Halibut on the Josie Mac and our Captain Ken was a very good guide. Although we were only able to land 1 keeper we must have caught over 50 fish. The day on the water with views of SF, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Bay Bridge was fantastic. We had calm water for the most part but Cpt. Ken’s beautiful and well kept boat had gyro electronics that kept the boat from rocking… never had that before, it was quite amazing. It wasn’t the day for catching limits of halibut (keepers) but I would definitely recommend the Josie Mac for future trips!
We had a a gret time Striper fishing the Sacramento River in mid October 2026. Kenny is a friendly and experienced captain, and his large boat is clean and comfortable. He had everything we needed ready to go and took us right to the fish. We had limits of big fish by 9:30.am. The entire experience was great and we will be back for more fishing.
We had an amazing time fishing with Captain Ken. My husband wanted to go fishing for his birthday. This trip definitely delivered. Captain Ken was a pleasure to guide us. Very knowledgeable, attentive to details and patient. Definitely will book again and highly recommended.

Fishig was difficult the day of September 17 in Rio Vista California due to the aquatic vegetation above and below the water. Captain Ken, did a great job clearing the 6 rods of the vegetation over 5 hours before the line became tight with our first of two 14 pound chinook salmon. Captain Ken is a dedicated skipper committed to making fishing fun and enjoyable no matter the difficulty of the catch. Jay Evans
A couple of buddies and I booked Ken for a trip we were planning. He was excellent with communication, had a first class boat and great knowledge of the area! We all got into some Halibut and a few really nice sized ones! I have a history of sea sickness and his boat stabilization made the trip super smooth and no sickness at all. Would highly recommend Captain Ken!
