Decide between exploring these rich waterways on foot or aboard a charter boat. If you choose an on-foot trip, make sure to bring some waders, as getting in the water will prove the most effective means of casting to attract the bite of your target fish. If you have your own fly fishing gear, Capt. Mark suggests that you bring it along, but he can also provide plenty of equipment. Just let him know before your trip and away you go. He'll even provide plenty of water and he can arrange for lunch on longer trips. Take advantage of this opportunity, as you'll need all the energy you can get after battling it out with the prized fish on offer here.
Largemouth and Striped Bass are the kings of the Delta, while Rainbow Trout promise to keep you on your toes in the rivers and creeks. Wherever you head, rest assured that you're in for a fun-filled day, as these creatures will stop at nothing to get off the end of your line.
With the prospect of a thrilling day of fishing in stunning surroundings, you'd be mad to turn down the chance to come fishing with Home Waters Guide Service. Captain Mark was very patient showing my son and I the ropes of fly fishing for Stripers. After a short session of practicing some technique, we headed out to the open water to fish the outgoing tide. We were on the fish from the get go. Over the course of the day we pulled in many stripers, and even a sizeable large mouth. All released. Even though I picked what happened to be the first really hot Saturday of the season, Captain Mark found places away from the crowds of boats. What a way to celebrate my son's birthday by seeing him catch a striper on a fly rod.

It was my pleasure Steven to introduce you and your son to the Delta and the exciting Fly Fishing for Stripers and Largemouth! You both did really well and I look forward to sharing more adventures with you both and building on the skills we worked on for even more success than that great day. Top-Water Largemouth this summer for those explosive takes and so much more right here in our own backyards! Thank you so much for such a nice review, it makes what I have chosen to make my life's work all the more worthwhile... Captain Mark
First time learning to fly fish. The captain taught me how to use a fly rod and what to do. I was able to catch a lot of Striped and Largemouth Bass with the fly rod. For anyone who is looking to learn how to try fishing with a fly rod I recommend wholeheartedly. What you should know is that it is all about fly fishing and it is catch and release. Also make sure to bring a physical copy of a fishing license and if you get thirsty he has cold water that he brings so that you don’t have to bring a water.

Thank you Oliver, it was a pleasure to spend the day with you on the Delta yesterday. You did a great job learning and I'm so glad you enjoyed the day. Wow, wasn't that exciting seeing those Largemouth come up and smash the fly? How about the strength and speed of the Stripers and feeling their power directly through the line, now you see what we Fly Fishing nuts are so addicted to! I hope to fish with you again sometime, bring a buddy to share the cost and you'll be the experienced one ! I'll upload a picture or 2 later Thanks again Oliver, Captain Mark

My son and I caught a decent amount of bass. We had never fly fished before and the captain helped coach us threw it very well. We will be coming back.
Had a great trip, and Mark was a great instructor.

Thank you Ryan! It was my pleasure taking you and Luke out on the Delta fpr a beautiful day of top-water Largemouth fly fishing. I was wondering how Luke, at 9 yrs. old, would do for the entire 8 hrs., but his enthusiasm held up the entire time with out one bit of let down1 I wish I could say the same for some adults! LOL! His knowledge and curiosity for the fish and wildlife was great to see as so many youth and adults alike can get so caught up in our busy world that they don't let themselves take in the beauty that's right in our own backyards...I look forward to spending the day with you 2 again soon and building on the skills that you learned so far. Thanks again, Captain Mark

Thank you so much for your patience and effort on your first fly fishing trip ever. It was a bit windy, but despite that you managed to hook a beautiful largemouth, fight him perfectly and just when I was about to grab him, the hook popped out! Oh, well, I hope the memories of that fish, the perfect casts and the several others that came up to smash your popper will last and last....Nothing quite as exciting and heart stopping as watching a Largemouth appear out of the weeds and attack our flies, you can see why I am hopelessly addicted! LOL!
