Captain Charlie Hookem 

Caught several different kinds of fish, no keepers but that as okay since it was nearly our last day of vacation...Captain was experinced in fish types, was on top of baiting our hooks every time, explained how (my!) lines kept getting stuck, but he was able to get it unjammed. We would definitely book again and tell friends. Husband and I both had a good time, good music, conversation...We are very glad we booked this excursion. looking forward to seeing the new larger (!!) boat soon to come!

I agree with other comments - Charlie is a great guy who made the whole trip relaxed and fun. He was patient with my kids, joked around with us and gave us plenty of instruction and tips when we needed them. When the fish werent biting, we moved to a new spot. Ended up catching snapper, snook, toad fish and a catfish. A handful of snapper were keepers. we also saw a manatee, and a bunch of dolphin. Wouldn't hesitate to book Charlie Hookem again, or recommend him to others. Just a great day!

Charlie is a great Captain! Great energy and such a personality. Made our whole trip fun and adventurous. He was patient with all of us new at fishing, we had no idea what we we're doing lol He's very knowledgeable about fish and the area. If looking for a great fishing trip, Charlie is the Man! 10/10.

I chose Captain Carlos because the reviews said he was good with kids and I was taking my 12 year-old son. I figured if he was good with kids, he would have patience. And patience is what makes a good fisherman and captain. My son left the day a better fisherman, just like Carlos promised. My son had a very low confidence about fishing, but left the day feeling so proud of himself. Carlos did not disappoint. He took us right to where the fish were biting. But he did much more than that, which really made him stand out. He was attentive; always replacing our bait and getting us back in the water, offering advice on where to drop our lines, keeping us fed and hydrated, taking great pictures of our catch, and making fantastic conversation about fishing, the local communities, and the waters. Carlos is a captain that knows what he is doing. We caught six different species: snook, sheepshead, pufferfish, mangrove snapper, spade fish, and grouper. He helped us successfully land all these and did an amazing job helping my 12 year-old son get the two biggest fish in the boat. My son catching a 20” sheepshead was a highlight for the whole boat! I can’t recommend Carlos enough. Book him now and you won’t regret it! Next time I am here, he will be my go to! Thanks again, Carlos!

Charlie took us to some great spots and we caught a lot of grouper and snapper. We also caught a huge Amberjack which we were able to keep. Charlie processed our snapper and Jack on the boat for us which we all indulged in for a meal later that evening. lots of fun and he allowed us to bring our dog and drink some beers which added to the enjoyment. most importantly, he patiently assisted and taught the individuals that didn't have much angling experience.

We booked a 4 hour am fishing charter with Captain Charlie and had the best time! He knew exactly where the fish were biting and which fish would be biting. Was super funny and chill, made the charter very comfortable for myself, son and significant other. Will be booking again!

Captain Charlie was GREAT!!!! The experience of just hanging out with him was great in itself!! We caught some cool fish, lost a MONSTER, and enjoyed every minute of it!! Will definitely book again when we come back!!

i told charlie what i wanted to catch and by golly he put me on everything i wanted charlie was hreat very knowledgeable and funny and just a fun time to be around me and my mother in law went and we had a blast

It was tough conditions but Charlie worked hard and put us on fish. We were able to see a bunch of dolphins and a manatee. Great conversation , good time had by all of 5 of us. Would recommend him to anyone looking to catch fish and have a wonderful time.
