Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also remember to bring snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized!
You'll be dropping lines from a 26' Pursuit offshore vessel with a capacity for 4 passengers. It comes with downriggers, and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.
You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, Prebrined anchovies as well as prime time Halibut bait is supplied so don't worry about bringing any gear unless you have a lucky lure that must be run.
You need to purchase a tidal water recreational fishing license before the trip. This information is available online at DFO Canada, or you can purchase one at Gone Fishing in Port Alberni. If you're from the United States, you cannot purchase the necessary Halibut tag online, you will have to purchase it at Gone Fishing in Port Alberni or another sport fishing shop in Canada. All fisher people will need to purchase Salmon tags.
A few items to bring include bottled water, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks for you on board.
We also offer 3 day trips with overnight stays at our partner Barkley Sound Lodge in beautiful secluded Harrison cove.
