Wade cautioned us before starting out that the lunar cycle and weather conditions this day probably would limit the fishing hits. I'd like to see what a good day produces! We landed 31 great fish (two people fishing) in the morning! Bass and pickerel. We were just grinning from ear to ear the entire time. I've done a lot of fishing in Maine, but this was by far the best day. I think I can attribute that to Wade's knowledge of the fish and the lake. The lake is amazingly treacherous - lots of rocks and shoals in very unexpected places (don't even think about taking you boat here unless you know where you are going and go slow!). Wade has been mapping the lake for years and showed us some of the fascinating topography under the surface. He took us around the lake, the sonar showing various structures including glacial deep holes - and the fish lurking there. The lake is also very big and windy (be careful if you think you want to canoe on it) - which can affect the fishing, but Wade knows his way around that and we had no problem with it. I can't say enough about Wade (I sound like a salesman), the man is exceptionally knowledgeable about fishing and the lake, but also just plain congenial and friendly - and very open to sharing his understanding of fishing and the lake. You can't go wrong here. 31 fish on supposedly a "bad" day proves that! Peter Hunt
Thank you so much Peter for your kind words. A group like yours makes it way too easy. I’m thrilled that you had a great trip and we have set some new goals for next time.. lofty as they may be ..looking forward to sharing more knowledge of the lake and telling some stories.

Had an amazing time on the boat with Wade! He certainly knows the lake and is excited to share its secrets and beauty. Matching my preference for fishing the surface with the wind direction and time of day, it wasn't long before we hit consistent action with some smallies. Wade and I hit multiple sites over the afternoon and each had unique bottom structure that proved key to hooking up to some nice size bass. While great for smallies, the lake is generally very shallow... I was glad Wade was navigating and not me! Hope to be back to get a full day in so I can see what the morning action is like!
Thanks for those kind words Mr. Mike, it’s always a great time hanging out with you and your brother, always sad to see it end. Glad you enjoyed your time. Looking forward to seeing you again again. Awesome pic by the way.
I’m not the most experienced of fisherman and I’ve been wanting to learn and hit the waters all summer long and I’m so glad I finally pulled the trigger on this fishing trip. Captain Wade is very knowledgeable of baskahegan lake, the fish and their feeding times, and is an excellent fisherman himself. He taught me a lot and we had a great time. He’s a wicked funny guy and I can’t recommend him enough. I’ll definitely be back for another fishing trip. (Also the AirBNB he rents out was pretty solid and was right down the road from where we launched. Very cozy)
thanks so much Ryan, I had an excellent time with the both of you and I’m looking forward to seeing you back. That nighttime trip was wild stuff for sure. Definitely some Jurassic Park moments.

Wade was an awesome guide that provided a great day of fishing on Baskahegan Lake. He has a top notch boat and modern equipment with knowledge of the lake from a lifetime of experience. The weather was tough with a lot of wind but Wade was able to put us on the fish despite the challenging conditions. It was a great day overall landing over 25 fish.
Thanks Nick, it was great having you, calm waters and sunny days next trip....
Spent half day on lake with guide Captain Wade of Expedition 207. Unbelievable boat!! And this guy KNOWS Baskahegan Lake. Great experience. Will be back again! Highly recommended!
Thanks a lot Stephen, it’s always a blast hanging out with you guys. It helps that you both know your stuff.
