If you're ready to start fishing in St. Augustine, book a trip with Hallinginfish Charters and Tours. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain David is prepared to put you on fish.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Amberjack, Great Barracuda, Black Drum, Flounder, Gag Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Jack Crevalle, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Black Seabass, Red Snapper, Vermilion Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, and plenty more. On these trips, it's common to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
Capt. David will bring you aboard a 22' Sea Hunt center console. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
Don't leave home without sunglasses, bottled water, and sunblock (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. Please only wear non marking shoes.

My wife and I had came to St. Augustine to do several things, fishing was one of those things! We had a truly great time fishing with Captain Dave Hall. We caught a lot of small fish, which were not keepers- plenty of action just the same, but Captain Dave got us hooked up with a couple very nice king fish and a very good sea trout - after he filleted our catch we had approximately two gallon size freezer bags of fillets heading back to Kentucky to be guest for dinner! I am from the school of hunting is not always killing and fishing is not always catching! Sometimes you need to just get away from the crazy and simply LOOK around you- we had a great time, perfect weather, a very good Captain, a nice boat with air conditioning (when Captain Dave latched it back - great breeze!). All in all, a blessed day to enjoy God's creation and make a new friend. If you live in St. Augustine - you have an incredible place to call home - so many amazing things to see and do here. We had a great trip with David and his wife Kelly. They were very accommodating and personable. We originally planned an offshore trip, but it was pretty rough and we decided we would prefer to fish inshore since my wife can get seasick if it's rough. We ended up catching our limit of mangrove snapper and had action for the entire trip. We had a great time. There were 3 of us and we were able to fish comfortably. The boat was very nice and in good shape, same for all the equipment. Definitely would recommend and plan on fishing with David again next time I'm in town.

Great captain very nice guy. If you book the 4 hour plan on a little longer the captain is not Great with time and he admits it. I think the captain baited my wife's hooks every time. Please use this charter if you come to st Augustine

We had an absolutely awesome fishing trip with Captain David! From the moment we left the dock, everything was smooth and professional. We headed offshore and were on the fish in no time—ended up filling the cooler with a great variety of catches. The boat was super clean, well-equipped, and very comfortable for the ride. Captain David clearly knows his stuff and made the entire experience fun, safe, and successful. Highly recommend booking a trip—you’re guaranteed a great time on the water and plenty of fish to show for it!
