Mahuey Boat Charters Maldives operate fun and exciting fishing excursions in the beautifully clear and fish-rich waters of the Maldives. You will be able to catch an array of fish, depending on the time of the year and take home memories of a lifetime.
The crew, led by Captain Shifan, will tell you exactly where the fish are, and that is where they’ll take you fishing. You will have all the fishing gear available to use on board, and they will happily teach you how to cast for and reel in your favorite fish.
The fishing will take place aboard a 33-foot custom offshore sport fishing boat, originally built in 2000, and restored in 2017. This speedy vessel is powered by two 200 HP Yamaha engines, with a maximum cruising speed of 33 knots. It will get you to the most productive grounds swiftly, and you will enjoy its T-top for shade from the sun, and the extras such as soft drinks and snacks provided by the crew.
Mahuey Boat Charters Maldives can take you fishing in the Raa Atoll from January to June where you can snorkel and scuba dive in pristine waters, or to the Baa Atoll where the whale sharks on the protected Hanifaru Bay swim in large numbers. Then, there is the Alif-Alif Atoll where the fishing is excellent from January to June and you can catch wonderful reef species like GT’s, Wahoo, Snapper, Clownfish and other species.
There is also Alif Dhaalu Atoll, Vaavu Atoll, North Male and South Male Atoll. Each of the Atolls offers many types of different fishing such as big game trolling, popping, casting, and jigging.
Your targeted species will include the famous Giant Trevally, the tasty Snapper, Wahoo, Tuna, Groupers, Mahi Mahi, Barracuda, and serious game fish such as Marlins and Sailfish.

Half Day Trip
Great charter but needs work
Great boat and crew who worked hard to find the fish which were hard on the day. The gear used was of low quality and i lost a big red bass as the line snapped from being too frail or old. Braid line needs to be changed after a while. We did however manage to find some nice GTs and my wife caught a nice fish of around 11kg. Her first GT. We were quite happy with that. Abit more practice on finding the fish recommending the best time to go which is on tide changes and some better gear with sharper hooks. Not rusty hooks. And this charter will be very good. Also had no fish finder/depth sounder on board. Any professional outfit needs one of these to find fish cosistently. I suggest the crew invest in a quality depth sounder.

A Beautiful Day For Fishing
We found the Captain and Crew of Mahuey to be courteous and helpful. We were lucky to have a beautiful day to fish, considering the morning started out windy and overcast. We will be back.

Hugely disappointed. Two words sum up my experience with this charter. To begin with the boat didn't match up to the images on the website. There are clear pictures of seating on either side of the boat including a fighting seat neither of which were there. Then there was no fish finder. I had responded to a query from the owner about the types of fishing I wanted to do (in essence I wanted to try all) but he informed his crew to come prepared for just popping. The fishing equipment was dismal and the crew struggled to assemble them and resorted to using bits of plastic to hold the rods together. There was very little space for 2 anglers (unless you're highly experienced) to fish from the boat. The crew then went on to do fishing themselves and we were just watching. I didn't sign up to pay $1100 to watch them fish. The key person of the crew had bad attitude and was arrogant. We eventually cancelled the trip 2 hours into it after speaking with Raifu who said he needs to pay his crew and for fuel. In the end we still ended up paying $660 for a complete rip off trip. Sorry but my sincerest advice to bookers is to give this charter a complete miss unless you have zero expectations and are a world class popper. They didn't have any backup plan and all they seemed keen to do in the end was collect the payment.
