On these trips, it's common to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Olan also offers kite fishing.
Capt. Olan runs a 57' sportfisher with capacity for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Olan will provide rods and reels for you, as well as lures.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates often work for tips and it's customary to offer them a 20% tip.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
You can't go wrong when you bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, food, and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed.

Do you like to fish? Do you like to catch fish? Do you like a professional boat captain who is very knowledgeable of the local waters and will put you right in position to catch fish? If the answer is YES then Captain Olan West of the “West Wind” is your man! Get ready to reel in dolphin (Mahi Mahi), tile fish, and tuna and maybe even a Trophy Fish! After a successful day of fishing on the West Wind, it was great to relax in the airconditioned cabin. Now I understand why so many families return each season to fish with Captain West! You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
