If you're ready to get hooked on fishing in Cabo San Lucas, book a trip with Speedwell Cabo. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Victor knows them forwards and back.

Blue Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Longbill Spearfish, Roosterfish, Swordfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Skipjack Tuna, Amberjack, Striped Marlin, Wahoo, and more could be biting if you come at the right time of year. For these species, you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Victor can also have you kite fishing.

If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board.

Capt. Victor runs a 38' Pesca Deportiva with room for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. What's more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.

Before coming aboard, you may need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.

It's recommended to bring sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks for you on board. The crew can make some food for you, such as sashimi, ceviche or other type of dish, depending on your catch.

Go ahead and treat yourself to a day on the water with Speedwell Cabo!

Tough Day in Cabo
Full Day (onlyboat) on June 10, 20262 adults

Not everyday is perfect here in Cabo. A great Captian however can deal with the challenges and still deliver a memorable experience. Today was one of those days….started off with the port closing due to 'poor conditions'. Captain Victor and his sons explained what was going on and we all waited patiently. Within 30 mins of the port opening he had us on Marlin. First one made a strong run and gave a great ariel show before popping the hook. Just a few minutes later we were on marlin #2. After 3 strong runs it was released at the boat unharmed. The wind picked up and the bite cooled off but before heading in we had some good fun trying to catch Grouper through a ferocious school of Needle Fish. Not exactly what we expected but still a great day.

Best crew in Cabo!
Full Day Trip on April 16, 20264 adults1 child

Miguel and Ismael were fantastic to spend a day on the water with! They run a very clean boat, know their waters like experts, great with a couple young kids on board, lunch was good and the beer was ice cold. We got into Marlin first they went hunting for Dorado and Rooster Fish. These guys were working the gear hard! Live bait, lures, squid, bombers, lures, flashers, 6 lines out all day. We hooked into the largest grouper any of had ever experienced. And at the end of the full day, we had a GIANT Sealion as our personal escort back to the boat slip. Highly recommend these two brothers and their boat Speedwell for your next big fishing trip in Cabo!

Relentless Crew, Mahi on the Line & Whales in Sight
Half Day Trip on January 8, 20264 adults

This was an outstanding trip from start to finish. The crew was absolutely fantastic — knowledgeable, hardworking, and genuinely committed to giving us the best possible experience. Even after landing three mahi mahi, they never gave up and kept working hard trying to get us on marlin until the very end of the trip. On top of the great fishing, we were lucky enough to see humpback whales, which was an incredible bonus and made the day even more memorable. The boat was clean and well maintained, everything was well organized, and the crew made sure everyone was comfortable and involved. A truly unforgettable experience with a crew that goes above and beyond. Highly recommend and would absolutely book again.

Great Trip
Full Day Trip on March 30, 20266 adults

Everything was as advertised. the boat was clean and well provisioned, the crew was hard working and diligent, and the fish came on board. Long time Cabo visitor and have gone out on dozens of charters. Would definitely recommend you give then a shot. they will put the effort in, and that is probably the most important thing to look for in a crew. There were six of us on board and all had the same opinion, it was a great trip!

First Cabo Fishing Trip
Full Day (onlyboat) on June 9, 20262 adults

Captain Victor and his sons did a great job despite challenging conditions. His experience and local knowledge kept us out of the wind and rough water and on the fish (Rooster Fish, Derado, and Stripped Marlin). Going out with them again tomorrow…cant wait!
