Spend the day with Saltwater Outlaw Fishing (Est. 1992) and find out what the fishing in Cedar Key is all about! Having logged many hours on these waters, Captain Tracy (a 4th Generation Cedar Key Native) can tell you all about them.

Redfish, Speckled Trout, Tripletail, Snook, Sheepshead, Cobia, Black Drum, Spanish Mackerel, and more are in the cards if you cast your line at the right time of year. On these trips, you can expect to use generally light tackle.

Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask for one (or more) that can be provided. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!

Capt. Tracy's primary boat is a legendary Florida hull (24' Morgan) with capacity for 4 passengers for fishing (6 people for island/history tours- message the Capt. to inquire). It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Capt. Tracy also has a 20' MicroDraft boat for creeks and backwaters (used more in the winter months). High quality rods/reels are provided.

There's no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.

Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks (bottled water) are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Both of the Saltwater Outlaw's boats are pet friendly.

Give yourself something to look forward to and book a trip with Saltwater Outlaw Fishing!

Great day on the water!
Half Day Trip - AM (Most Popular) on May 24, 20262 adults

Even with the super windy conditions the morning of our fishing trip and the heavy rain the night before, Captain Tracy had us on fish quickly and kept us catching throughout the trip. Growing up in Cedar Key, he also shared a wealth of history and local knowledge about the area, which made the experience even better. Highlight of the day for me was landing a 30–35 lb drum fish! We’ll definitely be booking another trip with Tracy the next time we’re in Cedar Key.
