You're likely to go after Cobia, Gag Grouper, Jack Crevalle, King Mackerel, Sheepshead, Mangrove Snapper, Red Snapper, Spadefish, Gray Triggerfish, and more, depending on the time of year. On the day of your trip, you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available; otherwise, you should bring your own. Snacks are never a bad idea so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly! The boat has plenty of room and children are safe to walk around.
Capt. Laci will bring you aboard a 22 foot Cape Horn center console that holds up to 5 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. Capt. Laci will supply rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don't know what to expect, ask the Captain. It's always wise to bring bottled water, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience, especially given the tough fishing conditions we were up against. From the moment we stepped on the boat, Captain Laci went above and beyond to make sure our trip was not only successful, but genuinely enjoyable. Even when the fish weren’t cooperating, she never stopped working — changing spots, trying different techniques, and doing everything possible to put us in the best position to catch something. Her determination, knowledge, and positive attitude made all the difference. You could tell she truly cared about giving us the best experience, not just going through the motions. What really stood out was how she kept the energy up and made sure we were having fun the entire time. She was patient, encouraging, and incredibly personable — making the trip feel relaxed and enjoyable, no matter what the conditions were. At the end of the day, it wasn’t just about the fish — it was about the experience, and Captain Laci absolutely delivered. The water was extremely choppy but Laci still managed to put us on fish. She had her hands full with me and 3 kids. She was extremely patient with my 5 year old and make the trip fun for everyone. Hands down we will use them on our next trip. Thanks again.
Captain Randy did a great job of putting is on fish. The whole experience was really fun. Captain Randy found a good spot after the initial spot stopped producing fish. My son caught his first salt water fish on the trip. I would recommend the trip for everybody.

bite was tough but did catch enough for dinner…caught a 25 lb jack some spade fish….few short red snapper…white trout and a few bluefish….
I booked this fishing trip for my husband’s birthday. So glad I booked with Due South. Laci was our Captain and she went above and beyond to get us on some fish. We had a great time and can’t wait to do it again!
