We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience, especially given the tough fishing conditions we were up against. From the moment we stepped on the boat, Captain Laci went above and beyond to make sure our trip was not only successful, but genuinely enjoyable.

Even when the fish weren’t cooperating, she never stopped working — changing spots, trying different techniques, and doing everything possible to put us in the best position to catch something. Her determination, knowledge, and positive attitude made all the difference. You could tell she truly cared about giving us the best experience, not just going through the motions.

What really stood out was how she kept the energy up and made sure we were having fun the entire time. She was patient, encouraging, and incredibly personable — making the trip feel relaxed and enjoyable, no matter what the conditions were.

At the end of the day, it wasn’t just about the fish — it was about the experience, and Captain Laci absolutely delivered. We’d book again in a heartbeat and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a top-notch charter with a captain who genuinely gives it her all.

Choosing Due South as our charter was the best thing we did on our trip to Gulf Shores. Captain Randy and his first mate Lacey were awesome. We really loved the fact that it was family owned and operated! they were very down to earth and made the whole trip. A very wonderful experience for us.. we even caught some fish and got to see the Dolphins, which was a major bonus. their hospitality and professionalism it’s five stars. definitely going to book with them when we come back.! and we love that we got to meet Sandy,  too😄

We can’t say enough good stuff about this charter. The captain and his daughter worked their tails off to get us on fish. They are the nicest people you will ever meet and are absolutely fantastic with kids. Other than traveling to the fishing spots, you never have any down time waiting on anything. They keep hooks and bait on all the time. They even let the kids help with the fish. We will definitely be back to fish with them every chance we get. They are awesome!

Weather was too rough on our scheduled day, so Randy reached out several days in advance to let is know that we would have to reschedule or cancel. He was super easy to work with and helped us find a calmer day when we were able to get on the water with him. We were so glad we were able to reschedule!  Everyone in our group had an amazing trip. Fishing was slow at first, but Randy worked hard checking spot after spot until he found us good fishing.

I cannot possibly say enough about our fishing experience with Captain Randy and Laci on the Due South. I spent over a month reading reviews and researching our trip because it was the 1st time we would be taking our 7 and 10 year old sons. They did not disappoint. Both Captain and Laci were very personable. Laci connected with my kids and showed them how to do things while we fished. It was all around enjoyable, we got to see the Sand Island Lighthouse and by the time it was all over, each of us had caught a shark. Memories abound. Truly amazing experience all around and one our kids won’t forget! Thank you Captain and Laci for a great day on the water!!!
