Atlantic Pelagic Horizons welcome's you aboard a 21' Hydrosport with room for 3 fishermen. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without such as a 1KW transducer, 9' Lowrance HDS Pro, livewell and Ice box.
We created this service for small groups of people who want a raw experience of sportfishing in Madeira waters, we are a fast paced fishing charter, with top speeds of 37knots meaning you will spend less time travelling from spot to spot and more time fishing when it comes to every type of fishing except trolling.
We specialize on fishing with all kinds of artificial lures being the most used and requested the jigging and light jigging, where we mainly target Snapper and 3 different species of Amberjacks.
Atlantic Pelagic Horizons are running things to be as selective as possible and to give the angler the best fishing experience there is with tuning our tackle for the maximum enjoyment with your catch where you can truly feel connected to the fish.
With a sportfishing background captain Ricardo welcome's the catch and release of all caught fishes, depending on depth/fish condition. Also in alternative you can take your catch to cook it wherever you want or you can ask for the captains opinion on prepping and cooking your catch.
The charter includes all the professional grade photos of your catch so that you can have them in full resolution along with videos that might be taken during the trip.
Rods, reels, and tackle are included, along with lures, jigs and bait. Some of this tackle includes a range of different sizes Shimano reels, like Saragosa Sw, Stradic Sw and Twinpower Sw depending on the target species and fishing techniques
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly, drinks like cola, iced tea, water and beer will be present and free of charge during your charter.
The possibilities are immense in Madeiran waters and you will only know them if you come with us to see whats lurking in them 😁🎣

Ricardo and his crew mate are superb with vast experience to put you on fish. We caught a wide veriety of fish including island grouper, snappa, trigger fish and more but the biggest surprise of all was a 120lbs giant tuna. This was totally unexpeted and some fight on the light tackle. What an experience! Ricardo is totally in tune with the sea and nature with a wealth of knowledge. It was a pleasure to spend the day with the guys as they clearly enjoy fishing every bit as us. Would highly recomend. Billy & Oliver

Ollie beeing the Island grouper master and you with the beatifull Yellowfin Tuna caught while Popping for them and to be able to witness the massive topwater hit leaving a ball the size of car in the ocean it was the cherry on top of the cake and a true landmark for madeiran waters since you can count how many managed to catch a yellowfin tuna this size popping in Madeira! Je suis plus qu'heureux d'avoir été accompagné par Ricardo et son frère, un binôme extrêmement bienveillant, accueillant et toujours prêt à enseigner les différentes techniques de pêche ! Les débutants sont clairement bienvenus. Tout a été fait pour faire de cette première une réussite : poissons aux rendez vous (dont un thon à nageoire jaune comme première prise !) ! Si je reviens à Madère, je rebookerai sans hésiter avec ce capitaine.

We had a wonderful morning with Captain Ricardo and his mate Joao. Ricardo was very attentive to our 8-year old child and made sure our son got plenty of opportunities to get hand on. Ricardo shared his knowledge of the island and the sea, and made sure we had a great time. We did a 3-hr trip which ended up being about 3.5hrs and that was about the right amount of time for us. We did both trolling and bottom fishing, and caught bonito, barracuda, snapper, grouper and triggerfish. Ricardo is sensitive to his environment and released whenever possible. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Had such a great time out fishing with Ricardo and Justin today. Both really lovely, friendly, chatty guys — perfect English and clearly knew their stuff. Ricardo was the main guy with Justin helping out, and they were happy to answer all my questions about Madeira (and I had a lot!). There were drinks on board - water, coke, ice tea, beer! We caught red snapper and amber jack, which we have brought home to BBQ this evening — amazing. 3 hours flew by, scenery was gorgeous the whole time. Can't recommend Ricardo and Justin enough, would 100% book again!
We had a great trip with Ricardo! Both Ricardo and Manuel were very friendly and competent, and they were very keen that we would have a good experience. We even stayed out longer than planned on the sea, and fished very actively to find good spots. We could tell these were experienced fishermen who really love what they do! Even though the conditions were not the best Ricardo found us good spots and made sure we had good catch. We caught both barracuda, dusky grouper and comber, all new species to us. We can definitely recommend going out with Ricardo!
Hi Joakim! It was a pleasure to have you along with your dad aboard with us! It was a very good time spent on the water, unfortunately fish activity was not up to the quality of fisherman we had aboard, but as we know it's fishing, and i would say that at least your Dad got that dusky grouper wich in my opinion its the most prized fish to catch on our rocky bottoms on artificial lures and it was so unfortunate that the one you hooked up was truly oversized for the gear we were using, only with a miracle a fish of that size would come up in those conditions, otherwise i cannot imagine how amazing the photo would be, there is always next time 😊 My best regards and tight lines. I started fishing in the waters of Madeira since I was 4 years old, on a day my father made the mistake of buying a rod and reel and all the equipment needed for a day's worth of fishing at the pier, and i got hooked on it from the moment i caught my first fish, a tiny boga(Boops boops) since then there was no turning back, i've had found what i wanted to do for the rest of my life. Even during the first days of school when new teachers asked about what we wanted to be once we grow up and my consistent answer through the years was that i wanted to be a fisherman, because it was what i really loved to do. The years went past and one thing led to another, started doing some fishing guide services from the shore in 2019 and in 2021 had the opportunity to take command of a sport's fishing boat, been there for 2 years, and 2 years as skipper on a glass bottom boat ( Beluga). Now i embark on this new journey along with you so that i can show what Madeira's waters have to offer.
