Your experience begins at the agreed meeting point, where you'll be welcomed by our captain and local first mate, both with extensive experience in sport fishing in the Tamarindo area. After a brief introduction covering the day's conditions, safety guidelines, and fishing techniques, we'll depart aboard our 28' Liston sportfisher, fully equipped and with capacity for up to 4 passengers, ideal for a personalized charter.

As we navigate, the crew will prepare all professional fishing equipment, including rods, reels, lures, live bait, jigging setups, and Rapala trolling systems. Once we reach the strategically selected spots—chosen according to season, tides, and target species—you'll work offshore techniques for Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, and Mahi Mahi, or inshore methods for Roosterfish, Cubera Snapper, Almaco Jack, and Rainbow Runner.

This is a fully hands-on experience: you'll learn how to identify a bite, properly handle the rod, and fight your catch with technique and control to increase your chances of success. Our crew will adjust strategy throughout the trip and move between spots as needed to maximize productivity.

We include photos of your experience, and at the end of the trip we'll clean and fillet your catch on the spot, with the option to prepare fresh ceviche or sashimi right on board.

Fishing licenses are fully covered. We provide cold drinks, and you're welcome to bring additional snacks. Children are welcome under supervision. We recommend bringing non-spray sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and lightweight clothing.

Your adventure ends with a smooth return to shore after a day filled with technique, adrenaline, and unforgettable moments on the Pacific.

Awesome day on some Yellow Fin Tuna
4 Hour Trip on June 5, 20264 adults

Communication with Axel was fast and he was very responsive to all my questions. Booked the night before for a morning charter. Axel met us early at the meetinf point and we set off. Within an hour we caught 4 Yellow fin Tuna. The crew knows the waters and where the fish are biting. We almost caught a sail fish. We saw dolphins, sea turtles as well. The captain and crew were really nice. Half day trip went by fast as we were having alot of fun. Would definitely recommend Axel and his crew and would be booking again next time I'm in Tamarindo!

Response from Captain

Thank you so much, Raaj! It was a pleasure having you aboard with Alex Sport Fishing. We're glad the communication was smooth and that you had such a fun morning on the water. Landing 4 yellowfin tuna within the first hour was a great start, and seeing dolphins, sea turtles, and almost hooking a sailfish made the trip even more special. Our captain and crew truly appreciate your kind words and always do their best to find the bite and create a safe, memorable experience. We'd be happy to fish with you again next time you're in Tamarindo!
