Florida fishing doesn't get much better than this.
Step aboard a local charter in Holmes Beach and spend the day exploring the inshore waters and nearshore Gulf with AMI Go Fishing. This trip is built for fun, flexibility, and real Florida action—perfect for families, first-timers, and anglers who just want to enjoy a solid day on the water.
Every trip is different, but depending on the conditions you may be battling Snook in the shallows, drifting for Spotted Seatrout and Redfish, bottom fishing for Grouper and Snapper, or even hooking into Sharks that put up an unforgettable fight. Spanish Mackerel, Flounder, Sheepshead, and other local favorites are always in the mix.
Your captain adjusts the game plan in real time, using local knowledge and a mix of techniques like spinning, trolling, jigging, drifting, and bottom fishing to stay on the fish as conditions change.
You'll be fishing from a 21' Grady-White center-console designed for comfort and performance, with space for up to 6 guests. The boat is fully outfitted with quality rods, reels, tackle, and lures—no experience or extra gear required.
Families are welcome, kids included. Let the captain know ahead of time if you need a child-size life vest. Light snacks and drinks are onboard, and you're welcome to bring your own beverages. Alcohol is allowed in moderation (no glass bottles or hard liquor).
Your fishing license is covered, so there's nothing to worry about besides enjoying the ride. Some species may be catch-and-release depending on regulations, and your captain will guide you through it all.
Bring sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and a sense of adventure.
If you're looking for a relaxed, hands-on fishing experience with a knowledgeable local captain, this is your chance to fish Holmes Beach the right way with AMI Go Fishing. 🎣🌊

We had two inexperienced fisherwomen on the trip and four very experienced. Thomas made the experience fun for all of us. He worked hard to get us on fish on a very slow bite. In the end, everyone caught fish and I added two new species to my personal catch list. The tackle was top notch and the rods/reels were some of the best I’ve fished with on a charter. The boat has a fair amount of wear and is clearly a working boat. Don’t expect a shiny, pristine boat. It is a workhorse and that’s evident. Pretty boats don’t get you on the fish. It is well maintained and safe but wouldn’t win a beauty contest.
If you’re looking for the best fishing charter experience around Anna Maria Island, book with Captain Thomas Schmidt — you won’t regret it. From start to finish, everything was top-notch. Captain Thomas is incredibly knowledgeable about the local waters and knows exactly where to go to get you on the fish. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, he makes the trip fun, easy, and successful. His patience and guidance really stood out, and he made sure everyone on board had a great time. The boat was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, and the scenery around Anna Maria Island made the whole experience even better. We caught plenty of fish and made some unforgettable memories out on the water. If you want a professional, friendly, and highly skilled captain who truly cares about your experience, Captain Thomas Schmidt is the one to choose. Highly recommend — easily a 5-star trip!
We did the 3hr trip starting at 10am, grewt timing because the tide was in and we were able to get to some watwra that would have otherwisr been unreachable at low tide. My kid landed a 4ft Bonnet Head Shark, his first fish ever!! We also landed Mangrove Snapper, a bottom feeder, a carfish and few more. Capt. Thomas was great, hes very knowledgeable about the eco system around AMI - will be booking again!
Thomas was an excellent guide, he put us on fish and was very knowledgeable and friendly. My daughter's boyfriend hooked up with a 6 foot ray and was in for an epic battle! He'd never caught anything bigger than a bluegill before, but Thomas coached him through the fight for almost an hour before the ray was successfully boated. An incredible experience for my daughter's boyfriend and memory for us all!
It started out a little slow but we caught some good bait fish to start out with. Ultimately my 10 yr old son caught a nice SHARK!! That wasn’t the only fish we caught but definitely the highlight of the trip. He was so excited and shaking! Couldn’t have asked for a better first time experience!! Thanks to Captian Thomas!! Big shout out my man!!
