Welcome to LZ Fishing Charters, located in beautiful Anna Maria Island, FL, specializing in offshore fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay! Your captain, Zack Horton, is an avid angler and outdoorsmen with a love for fishing and everything the ocean has to offer. With Capt. Zack you not only are hopping aboard with a knowledgeable fishing captain, but a Capt. that loves to share in and educate with others about the environment and all of the different species of wildlife that you are sure to see on your day on the water.
As far as the fishing goes, your Capt. will reach out and talk to you and your party prior to your trip about what you’re specifically looking to do/catch! Primary targets depending on the time of the year include different species of Snapper, Hogfish, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Red and Gag Grouper, Porgies, Grunts, Cobia, and even Mahi. Of course the sharks are ever present as well!
LZ Charters fishes out of a large 26’ Deep V Center Console powered by twin 175 horsepower Suzuki outboards. This boat cruises at 35 kts with a max speed of 50 kts. It has the horsepower to get you and your crew out to the fishing grounds fast! Fishing with a max of 6 anglers, this allows the Capt. and the anglers to have more than enough room to work when reels start singing and fish start hitting the deck. Aboard you’ll find a spot lock trolling motor, 30 rod holders, top of the line GPS and fish finding electronics, a sound system and of course all of the required USCG safety equipment. Capt. Zack provides all of the fishing licenses for your party, all of the rod and reels, the tackle, the bait, a cooler full of ice and bottled water. Simply bring your drinks, bring some snacks, some sunblock (rub on please), don’t forget the sunglasses and you’re ready to roll!!!

Captain Zack was great and really put a lot in to making sure the day was a success from the get go- adjusting timing around bad weather to ensure we had a great ride. Our kids who are 14, 8 and the 13 year old whose bday we were celebrating all had fun. The ride out along the intercostal is beautiful, the boat is clean and comfortable. All those who fished caught several fish and 3 made it home with us for some tasty fish tacos! Highly recommend. We would definitely do this again!
If you’re looking for an unforgettable day on the water, Captain Zack is the guide you want! From the moment we left the dock, his knowledge and passion for fishing were obvious. He put us on fish all day, and we caught an incredible variety of species, keeping the action exciting from start to finish. One of the highlights was getting the chance to chase a tarpon for a while—what an adrenaline rush! This experience alone made the trip even more memorable. Captain Zack knew exactly where to go, shared great tips throughout the trip, and made sure everyone had an amazing time. Whether you’re an experienced angler or just looking for a fun day on the water, we can’t recommend him enough. Hands down, this was one of the best fishing trips we have ever been on. We’ll absolutely be back, and be recommending Captain Zack to everyone we know. Thanks for an incredible day on the water!
My family had a wonderful time fishing with captain Zach! Promptly on time and we where catching fish within 10 minutes. We where very happy with the professionalism as well as knowledge of the local fishing in the bay. Three kids under 10 had an exceptional experience fishing new areas and getting to take home some tasty new species! I would highly recommend captain Zach if you are looking for a great day of fun and family memories. Thank you again captain Zach for being a highlight of our trip!

This was our third trip out with Captain Zach Horton on our vacation… The weather, the fishing and Captain Zach did not disappoint!!! A great time was had by all with an abundance of fish, camaraderie amongst all, and a plethora of big fish that broke or snapped lines… And that’s no fishing tail Folks! We had a trip booked with Landing Zone but the weather for our scheduled day was not looking great. Captain Zack took the time to find another day that worked for us and provided great communication along the way. We had an absolutely beautiful morning on the water and caught more than we could eat. My 10 yr old daughter is now a master angler with the help of her personal assistant, first mate Kyle, catching the most and the biggest fish of the day. We would 100% book with Landing Zone again if we are ever back in the area!

I actually grew up in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, right along the Mississippi river. I grew up hunting and fishing and when I was old enough my friends and I ventured out onto the river and that's where we stayed, catfishing, bowfishing and every other kind of fishing activity in between. It was what I did every free moment I had. When I moved to Florida about just shy of 10 years ago, I started to dive into saltwater fishing, and it opened such an amazing and beautiful world to me with so much to learn! I loved the variation of species and the different methods of fishing that I had never gotten to experience growing up. I loved it so much that I studied it for years and decided that even after graduating college that being in the fishing industry is where I wanted to be. Having a boat be my office and getting to share fishing experiences with people is truly a privilege and a dream come true. I wouldn't have it any other way.
