This makes it the perfect choice for small groups of friends or families who want to enjoy a fun day fishing in the area's clear blue waters. Captain Kevin Mitchell is an experienced angler who'll put you on the fish right from the start.
You will spend your trip aboard a 28' Grady White center console boat that is powered by twin 300 HP Yamaha engines to take you out to the reefs safely and fast. With a T-Top for shade and plenty of seating on board, the boat holds up to 6 anglers in comfort. It also features a huge, comfortable bow area perfect for catching some Rays if you want a break from fishing.
Capt. Kevin specializes in fishing the local patch reefs, which is an enjoyable activity for family groups. Half day trips are perfect for those who want to catch fish but don't want to spend a whole day on the water, and kids and adults alike love the colorful species, consistent action, and tasty catches that patch reef fishing entails.
You will travel out into the beautiful blue shallow waters, where you will anchor the boat, chum the water, and watch as the fish come out to feed. All this will take place in waters that are anything from 6' to 30' deep, where you could be in with a chance of catching a huge range of fish.
Expect to test your skills against fish like Mangrove Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, Grouper, Porgy, Jack, Hogfish, Mackerel, Barracuda, and Shark. With almost non-stop action ahead of you, your trip will be both relaxing and enjoyable for the whole family.
Everything you will need for fishing is included in the price, so all you should bring is sunglasses, suntan lotion, hat, camera, drinks, and any snacks!

We had a great trip. Capt Kevin put us on the fish the whole time. We caught over 100 fish. Non stop action and plenty of keepers. 50lb Goliath Grouper capped off the day! 20 minute fight. Brought him up for a weight and sent back to keep eating and growing. We had a great time and got plenty of history and geography lessons at the same time. It was just my wife and I but you could easily have the whole family on the boat. We will definitely fish with Capt Kevin again. You can tell he loves what he does and cares about the health of the fish and the waters.

Had an awesome time for our first ocean fishing trip! Was cut short due to the Wife not feeling well due to no fault of the captain. But in our short time out there we probably caught 20-30 fish. One of those being a 50lb+ grouper and another being about a 6’ shark. Would highly recommend and will definitely be scheduling with him again if we return in the future! Captain was very informative and educated in where to go. Had us on fish within minutes of stoppping.

Captain Kevin made our boy’s birthday one he’ll never forget! He kept us on the fish all day & made sure everyone was having a great time from start to finish. We caught a ton of fish, learned a lot, and made amazing memories out on the water. You can tell he truly cares about giving families a great experience. we did the fish and snorkel. 3 of my friends have never fished before. captain was extremely patient with teaching them how to cast and put us all on fish. I messaged beforehand that Ive fished a ton but have never caught a hogfish. First cast…first catch…hogfish within 5 minutes.

Captain Kevin was great! We had a group of five including three girls 14 and under and everyone loved it. Caught 60+ fish and a shark! Kevin had us on the fish at all times. Boat and equipment were great. We would definitely go with Kevin again!

Captain Kevin holds a 50 Ton USCG approved license. He started out by working as a mate on various offshore and reef fishing vessels. Drawn by the allure of the Back Country, he bought a flats skiff and pursued the wonders of the Florida Bay. Captain Kevin now spends most of his 'water' time, patch reef fishing for Hog fish, or immersing himself in the crystal clear waters that are our Upper Florida Keys reefs.
