Get Some Sportfishing LLC
Book your next trip with Get Some Sportfishing and find out what you're missing in New London. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Steve can tell you all about them.
Striped Bass, Thresher Shark, Yellowfin Tuna, Tautog, Black Seabass, Bluefin Tuna, Bluefish, Mahi Mahi, Scup (Porgy), Flounder, and more could be biting, depending on when you go. For these species, you're likely to troll and bottom fish, jig, drift and sometimes cast poppers using light tackle.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. They need to be type 1 USCG vests. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks to stay fueled throughout your trip!
Your boat for the day is a 26' Express Fisherman that can carry up to 6 passengers but for comfort we like to fish 4. It comes with outriggers, and everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live or dead bait will be available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 20% tip is customary.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
It's recommended to bring sunglasses, a hat, sunblock (non-spray), and bottled water/soda .Alcohol is not allowed.
Come out for a memorable day on the water with Get Some Sportfishing. No one puts in more effort to put you on the fish and make your trip unforgettable!

My sister was in town and I invited her on a Tog trip aboard Get Some Sportfishing. We can’t say enough good things about the experience. Captain Steve is extremely friendly, patient, and genuinely accommodating, he worked nonstop to put us on fish and made sure we were having a great time from start to finish. I have fished on Get Some before and one thing that really stands out is the quality of Capt. Steve's gear. He spares no expense when it comes to equipment, using top-notch rods and reels, fluorocarbon leader material, and quality hooks. It’s clear he takes pride in running a professional and safe operation and believes his clients deserve the best. We also appreciated how hard he worked to find fish. Some captains will stay local to save on fuel even when the fishing is less than mediocre, but Captain Steve isn’t like that. He’ll steam to wherever the fish are, and his deep knowledge of the waters really shows. He was determined to give us the best possible day on the water.

Thanks Joe always a pleasure to have you on board!

I went out with Captain Steve and his crew last October In New London. The trip was enjoyable and we caught a number of blackfish. His number 1 took time to show me how to bait and reel in. At the end of the day the fish were nicely cleaned and packaged for me to take home. Looking forward to another adventure this year.

pleasure to have you on board and you learned fast!

By far the best charter I've ever gone on we had multiple hook ups and experienced a feeding frenzy whith tuna and whales all around us. Steve the captin found us fish and got us on them I would 100 percent recommend get some sportfishing to anyone.

Thank you sir! we had a couple amazing trips out there cant wait to get you back out this season !

thanks mike was a pleasure having you and your father come out with us!

I have done several trips with Captain Steve on the Get Some and none disappointed. We caught dozens of stripers with some blues too in May and June with jigs and topwater plugs. Summer tuna trips produced plenty of action on the jig and the troll. I boated several tuna including a 150 lb bluefin! As a bonus we saw a bunch of whales feeding along with the tuna and some humpbacks breaching. In the fall we targeted blackfish. They can be tricky to catch but we had full boat limits and plenty of extra keepers that were released for a other day. One of the best things about Captain Steve is that he is relentless in pursuing fish. Every day and tide is different but Steve has plenty of spots and will hit them all to find them. He wants to catch as much as you do!

Thanks Les always a pleasure to have you on board! Your one hell of a fisherman! Cant wait to put you on all your personal best fish!
