GoFishVI
If fishing in North Central is on your bucket list, look no further than GoFishVI. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Mike knows them forwards and back.
These waters are known for Wahoo, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Great Barracuda, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Albacore Tuna, Blackfin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Skipjack Tuna, Tarpon, Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, and more – with any luck, you'll hook into a few!
On these trips, it's common to troll and bottom fish using heavy tackle. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing.
Capt. Mike is happy to have kids aboard, so feel free to make a family day out of it! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. You're welcome to bring snacks to keep up those energy levels!
Your vessel for the day is a 29' Center console with room for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.
Rods, reels, and tackle are included, along with lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates often work for tips and it's customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
Before coming aboard, it may be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's never a bad idea to bring sunscreen (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks available on board.
Now and then the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. Time to make it happen, with GoFishVI!
