Good Boat Terrible Fishing
4 Hour Trip – Choctawhatchee Bay on April 11, 20263 adults3 children

The boat was nice, but i think it mY have been Pat’s first time taking people fishing on it. All we wantednto do was have our kids get a pole and fosh for a few hours. instead Pat just has thr lines being towed from thr boat while we drove around. we just wanted all thr kids to drop a line in thr water and see what they could catch. We did get to see dolphins and thr kids loved that part. I would definitely not recommended this experience for anyone looking to fish.

Response from Charter operator

Hi Lindsey — thank you for the feedback, I appreciate you taking the time to share it. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the boat, but I’m sorry the fishing experience didn’t match what you had in mind — especially for your kids. That’s important to us. It sounds like there may have been a disconnect on the style of fishing for that trip. Trolling (lines behind the boat) is something we do at times depending on conditions, but for family trips — especially with kids — we typically focus on hands-on fishing where everyone can actively drop a line and participate. That’s on us for not making sure expectations were clearly aligned before departure. We’ve already addressed this with our crew to ensure every trip is tailored to the group, particularly when kids are involved. We take a lot of pride in delivering a great experience, and feedback like this helps us tighten things up. If you’re open to it, I’d welcome the opportunity to make it right for your family on a future trip. — Sunny Bay Cruise & Charter

Missed the mark!
6 hour offshore on July 1, 20263 adults3 children

The Captain was late, there were no snacks and the bottle water was warm, We stared out trolling and had one bite. Then we trolled out to a fishing spot and the Captain could not hold the boat on the fish. We dropped a line twice then he gave up and went back to trolling. One more bite and the day was over early. They proved to me that if fishing was easy anyone could do it. This crew could not Lt. I should have stuck to my original plan and fish the bay! Disappointing!

Sunny Bay Cruise & Charter LLC
Response from Charter operator

Dave, we’re sorry to hear the trip didn’t meet your expectations. Our goal is to provide every guest with a safe, enjoyable, and professional offshore fishing experience, and we’re disappointed you left feeling otherwise. Regarding your comments, our FishingBooker listing clearly states that we provide a large YETI cooler onboard for guests to use for drinks and fish storage. It does not advertise complimentary snacks or beverages, so we respectfully disagree with that portion of your review. Sunny Bay Cruise & Charter operates a brand-new 2025 World Cat equipped with top-of-the-line Garmin navigation and fish-finding electronics, premium tackle, and a spacious, comfortable layout designed specifically for offshore fishing. We invest in quality equipment so our guests have every advantage possible while enjoying a safe and comfortable day on the water. During your charter, we ran approximately 20 miles offshore, fished multiple productive areas, used a variety of techniques, and fished with multiple baits—including bonita—to give everyone the best opportunity for success. We also spent time fishing the jetties to maximize the day’s opportunities. There were multiple hookups throughout the trip, including several quality fish that unfortunately came off. Offshore fishing requires following the captain’s instructions precisely, particularly when fast-moving fish charge the boat or suddenly change direction. Our captain and deckhand repeatedly coached everyone through those situations, but several fish were lost because those instructions were not consistently followed. Offshore fishing is never guaranteed and is always influenced by weather, currents, tides, and fish behavior. What we can guarantee is that our crew will work hard, adapt throughout the trip, and use every tool, technique, and bait available to put our guests on fish. We stand behind the professionalism of our crew, the quality of our brand-new vessel and equipment, and the effort that went into your six-hour charter. We appreciate your feedback and wish you the very best on your future fishing adventures.

More of a leisure boat
4 Hour Trip – Offshore Gulf Fishing on June 17, 20262 adults1 child

We were scheduled for an offshore fishing trip, but with the weather conditions we had to stay in the bay. The boat is more of a leisure boat not really designed for fishing. It didn't have a trolling motor or even a place to store rods when traveling to the bay.

Sunny Bay Cruise & Charter LLC
Response from Charter operator

Hi Eric, thank you for your feedback. Safety is always our top priority, and due to the weather conditions that day, remaining in the bay was the safest option rather than heading offshore. We would like to clarify a few points for future guests. Our vessel is a brand-new 2025 World Cat 230DC, specifically chosen for its versatility and comfort. It is fully equipped for fishing with 10 rod holders, Garmin GPS, navigation and fish-finder with transducer, a livewell, and all the equipment needed for successful bay and offshore trips. Unlike a traditional flat-bottom fishing boat, our twin-hull catamaran with dual Yamaha 150s provides an exceptionally smooth, stable ride through chop and offers amenities many fishing boats simply don’t have, including: • Onboard bathroom (private head) • Plenty of shade and comfortable seating • Large Yeti cooler stocked with ice and drinks • Freshwater washdown system • State-of-the-art sound system Sunny Bay was intentionally designed to offer both an outstanding fishing experience and a comfortable family-friendly charter experience. While we’re sorry we couldn’t get offshore due to the weather, we stand behind our boat, equipment, and crew and appreciate the opportunity to have hosted your trip. We wish you and your family all the best and hope you’ll give us another opportunity in better conditions. Tight lines! 🎣🌊
