Make an adventure out of your next trip in Panama City and go fishing with Cañas Fishing Lodge. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Cañas is prepared to put you on fish.
You're likely to go after Jack Crevalle, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Bohar Snapper, Great Barracuda, Roosterfish, Sierra Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Snapper (Blackfin), Lane Snapper, Cubera Snapper, and more, depending on the season.
On the day of your trip you're likely to bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Capt. Cañas runs a 27' Center console with capacity for 5 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without.
Capt. Cañas will supply rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
You might need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
You can't go wrong when you bring sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
