Cpt. John not only knows Beaver Lake and striper fishing, he explains the whys and hows of everything to his customers. We enjoyed a half day charter...released some smaller fish and still got the limit in a short time. This time of year, he told us, the bite is pretty much finished by midmorning. He was right. Your striper limit is 3 per fisher, so a half day charter was more than enough time for us. We were moving the entire time we were out...no sitting forever waiting for fish to magically appear. Cpt. John knew where to locate them, and we caught some great fish. Cpt. John was great with my 9 year old grandson. It was a terrific charter. I won't book with anyone else from now on when fishing Beaver Lake.

What an incredible morning with Playin' Hooke. John is a master at finding the biggest stripers, and he put us right on the fish. My son, his friend, and had such a great time - memories we'll be talking about for a long time. The boat was super clean, the fishing was fantastic, and John's experience really shows. If you want a striper trip where you actually catch fish and enjoy every minute, Playin' Hooke is the way to go.

Johnny was the perfect guide! He did reconnaissance on the area prior to our charter and knew exactly where to go to find the stripers the morning of our excursion. Captain Johnny was great. Fantastic morning fishing with wife and son. Captain Johnny was great communicating time and location ahead of time and took great care of us on the boat - all while bringing in lots of stripers! Thank you, again, Johnny!

We didn’t catch a ton of fish, but we caught some 10 to 15 lb striper. Captain Johnny and Captain Jeremiah we great guides and a great time.

Johnny could not have provided a better trip for my 84 year old father in law and me. I was concerned when Johnny moved our departure point and time, but now realize he made a great decision. We were catching stripers after only ten minutes on the water. His service and equipment were top notch. I highly recommend Johnny as a guide for anyone.
