Jake's Saltwater Adventures – Reel Nauti
Hoping to go fishing in Homer? That's what Jake's Saltwater Adventures is here for! With Captain Jacob at the helm, you'll have a knowledgeable and experienced guide.
There's no guarantee when you're fishing, but just some of the species you can catch around here include Halibut, Cod, Lingcod, Rockfish, Black Rockfish, Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, and more if conditions allow. During the trip you might be light tackle fishing, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Don't forget to bring snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized!
Your adventure begins aboard a 30' North River aluminum fishing boat that can carry up to 6 passengers. It has downriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, along with lures.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates often work for tips and it's customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
You will need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's never a bad idea to bring sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Jake had ti stay back to do some boat repairs so we had Weston and Adam take us out. Westin grew up in Homer and has been on these waters his whole life. We got fish! Adam cleaned them on the boat on the way back to the marina. This was impressive as not a bit if mest was left on the carcus! Great job boys!
Went out with Mark and Levi. Good dudes - great banter. Had my two sons on the trip (15 & 13) - they did great as well and helped the first timers gain confidence and experience. Tons of success.
Captain Weston and Adam did a great job in putting us on some nice halibut in not so nice conditions! Bonus: we had a whale break the water right behind the boat! Great trip!

We hit our limit on halibut and caught 17 cod. Great trip! Captain Ben and deckhand Adam were super attentive and made sure everyone had a great time! Highly recommend this charter!

Homer, Alaska, United States
I grew up fishing in Minnesota fishing for Walleyes and Panfish. I came to Alaska in 2017 and have been hooked on Alaska ever since. This will be my 3rd year fishing out of Homer.
