Eyeronick Sportfishing
If you're ready to go fishing in Winthrop Harbor, book a trip with Eyeronick Sportfishing. Captain Ron and Captain Nick will be your guides so you'll benefit from their professional experience.
These waters are known for Brown Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon and Brown trout - with any luck, you'll hook into a few!
During the trip you will be trolling.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcomed . You can't go wrong with snacks to keep up those energy levels!
You'll be fishing aboard a 31' Boston Whaler Sportfish that holds up to 6 passengers. It comes with downriggers, all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.
You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
Before coming aboard, it is necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone 16 and older in your group. A salmon stamp is required when you purchase the yearly license. The one day, or 24hr sportfish does not require a salmon stamp. Licenses are available online at exploremoreil. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact us.
If you get motion sickness it would be advisable to take dramamine or any other method available to prevent it. Lake Michigan is a big body of water and rarely flat calm.
A few items to bring include bottled water, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. You should also bring a cooler with ice to take your catch home.

We took our children out for their first time fishing and had an amazing time! Ron and Nick are knowledgeable, helpful, and made the whole grip so fun for our kids. Our girl were too small to reel them in completely on their own, so they would do most of the work and then our girls would do a short distance to get them in themselves. We caught 21 fish! The boat was really nice, well-equipped, and clean. We would recommend Eyeronick to anyone!
My family and I have been on other fishing charters with mixed experiences, however Ron and Nick made this one memorable. They were great with my daughters (11 & 13), even taking time to answer their questions about the boats navigation equipment. We caught a bunch of salmon and trout. They cleaned the fish for us on the trip back to the marina. Would highly recommend them and plan on booking again in the future.
Was on a boat with my godson who was 15 years old. He’s never done this before. The first hour was a little slow and then it picked up and never stopped. The heat was on for the remainder of the trip. He reeled in so many fish he ended up with a blister. The crew was very informative and professional. Had a great time. Would highly recommend it. !

Thanks Bill, you guys are great! Would love to have you back.
I booked this trip with my 3 Sons, Dad and Uncle. This was our first time salmon fishing. Ron and Nick were professional, knew where to find fish and a lot of fun. We are definitely making this an annual trip with Eyeronick fishing charter

Thanks Eric, is was a blast having you guys on board. Hope to see you again next year.

Captain Ron and John are amazing! They did everything they could to make sure that we were able to catch fish. They are super knowledgeable and taught us so much as we trolled. We caught the biggest trout I'd ever seen and several steelheads. My family had a wonderful time and a great fishing experience. Thank you so much Eyeronick crew!! So glad I booked with them!!

Thanks for the great review! You guys are welcome back anytime, glad you had a great time.
