Massive Confusion Charters
Massive Confusion Charters
Make some memories in Chicago and go fishing with Massive Confusion Charters.
Species like Pink Salmon, Coho Salmon, Chinook Salmon, Lake Trout, Salmon, Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), and more inhabit these waters if conditions are right. On the day of your trip, you're likely to troll.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Feel free to bring your own snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
You'll find yourself aboard a 38' Delta sportfishing vessel that can carry up to 14 passengers. It has downriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. What's more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, as well as lures.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates often work for tips and it's customary to offer them a 15–25% tip.
Before coming aboard, it will be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's always wise to bring sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well glass bottles. NO BEER BOTTLES OR ANY TYPE OF DRUGS ARE ALLOWED. Beer is welcome in cans only. Cigars and Cigarette smoking is allowed.

6 1/2 Hour Trip DELUXE (AM) on August 21, 2026 • 7 adultsCaptain Bob and Kyle run a great tight ship, easily coordinating 9 of us on the charter. And WOW did they ever put us on fish, not just in numbers but in size with several huge lake trout and some nice salmon and steelhead to boot! Highly recommend Massive Confusion for your charter!

6 1/2 Hour Trip DELUXE (PM) on July 26, 2026 • 9 adultsTo start with, any trip on Lake Michigan with awesome weather, is a success in itself. This was a trip for 9 guests, most of which had never been out on the lake before. The boat is awesome as are the crew. A 60 min ride out on the lake which was fantastic due to great weather. They set lines, and in the first 20 mins we had 2 good size lake Trout in the boat. this is how the next 4 hours continued. Everyone caught fish, and the crew aided the guests who had no experience, and those of us with some. They did great with all of us. The ride back was also fun, especially with the big grins on everyone"s face. All 9 guests decided this was the best trip that could be, and would do it again. The boat and crew are great for a big crowd like this.

6 1/2 Hour Trip DELUXE (PM) on July 3, 2026 • 10 adultsI booked a 6 hour charter with Kyle and Deckhand Tyler. Both of them were fantastic to work with and very helpful/encouraging. I have chartered several times before and past Captains could care less if you catch anything, that was not the case with Kyle and Tyler. Both are very knowable and knew what to do when the time came. I will %100 book another charter with them in the future.
