Make the most of your time in Inwood and go fishing with D.c.outdoor Adventures.
Tautog, Striped Bass, and more are in the cards, depending on the time of year.
For these species, you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light tackle. Capt. Dennis also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Capt. Dennis believes in teaching kids to fish while they're young, so get 'em offline and onto the water! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. And, you can't go wrong with snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized!
You'll be casting lines from a 28' Pilothouse with capacity for 6 passengers. It has downriggers, all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.
Capt. Dennis will provide rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates often work for tips and it's customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
It's always wise to bring sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and a hat. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
