If you're ready to enjoy fishing in Port Canaveral, look no further than Fin Finder Fishing Charters. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Nick knows them forwards and back.

Black Drum, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Flounder, Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Redfish, Red Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Snook, Tarpon, and more can be found in these waters if conditions are right.

For these species, you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.

If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. You're welcome to bring snacks to keep their stamina going!

You'll be casting lines from a 19' Bay boat with space for 3 passengers. For our inshore trips and on our 23' offshore boat for the deep sea trips. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without.

Capt. Clayton has rods and reels for you. Live bait is available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

.

It's never a bad idea to bring bottled water, sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

My Go-To Captain on Florida’s Space Coast
Half Day Trip – Inshore/Nearshore on August 1, 2026

I’ve had the opportunity to fish with Captain Nick Clay on numerous occasions, both in the Indian River and around Port Canaveral, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. Nick is a third-generation Florida charter captain, and that experience shows. He has an incredible knowledge of the Space Coast fishery and is equally comfortable fishing the Indian River, working the jetties and inshore waters around Canaveral, or heading offshore. My own trips with Nick have mostly been in the rivers and close to shore, and over the years he has put me on **redfish, black drum, tarpon, snook, and tripletail**. That’s only a small sample of what Nick fishes for - I just haven’t had the opportunity yet to experience the offshore side of his charter business. But what really separates Nick from other captains is how much he genuinely **loves fishing and loves helping other people catch fish**. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who enjoys fishing more than Nick. He gets just as excited helping someone else hook a big fish as he does catching one himself. He’s also a terrific teacher. Whether you’re an experienced angler or someone who has barely held a fishing rod, Nick is patient, knowledgeable, and happy to explain what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, and how to improve. He has a great personality, is dependable and responsible, and is the kind of captain I would feel completely comfortable recommending to friends and family. He’s especially good with families, kids, and anglers of all ages and experience levels. If you’re looking for a charter on Florida’s Space Coast, **Fin Finder Fishing Charters with Captain Nick Clay should be at the top of your list.** With Nick, you’re not just hiring someone to drive the boat and put you near fish - you’re spending the day with someone who has spent his life on these waters, truly loves what he does, and will work hard to make sure you and your group have an amazing experience on the water. Five stars without hesitation.

Half Day Trip – Inshore/Nearshore on May 9, 2026

I have booked multiple trips with Captain Nick and Fin Finder fishing charters. I have been on half day and full day trips and no matter the time Captain Nick had us on fish. Not only a great experience catching great fish but Captain Nick also very knowledgeable even coaching me through whole battle with the fish to landing them. I highly recommend booking with Nick if you want the best possible fishing experience!
