For your next vacation in South Carolina, you're going to want to book a trip with Above & Below Charters. Captain David is a USCG 200 Ton Master and has been fishing the Atlantic his whole life. Deep sea fishing is his specialty and he can't wait to take your group out for an exciting day. We are happy to announce that we are offering winter trips in lovely key west florida. Hilton head dates will be between March 15 - October 10. Keys will be October 15 - March 10.
The day will be spent on his 38' 'Salty Mistress', a comfortable sport fishing boat. There is plenty of space for all 6 anglers. There is a cabin for the kids to chill in during the ride out to the fishing grounds. Once the fishing starts, you'll be grateful for the fighting chair and walkaround option – you're less likely to lose your fish close to the boat this way!
There is also a tuna tower, giving you that extra edge over your prey, and plenty of rod holders for trolling. There is mostly Penn gear on board for you to troll with, with Penn and Shimano conventional reels.
Depending on the trip you choose, you can expect to target Blue Marlin, Yellowfin and Blackfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Red Snapper, Wahoo, Grouper, and many more. You'll mostly be trolling, but can do some bottom fishing if there is time on the longer trip.
Kids of any age are welcome but parents need to be with them. It's a long trip but exciting for them! Life vests are provided.
Included in the price are top-quality rods and reels, all the bait and tackle, and ice. The fishing license for the group is also provided. You should bring a small cooler of food and drink. Beer is allowed, but should be in cans, and not too much! Don't forget to bring sunscreen, a hat, and to wear light layers of clothing with deck shoes.

What an absolute home run of a day on the water! Taking three kids fishing can sometimes feel like a wild exercise in untangling lines, but this trip was smooth sailing from start to finish. Our guide was extraordinarily patient, knowledgeable, and knew the exact spots to keep the rods bending. The action was non-stop. Watching the kids' eyes light up every time a reel started screaming was worth the trip alone. We ended up landing 15 solid keepers—plenty for a fantastic dinner—and released other catches back into the water to fight another day. Beyond the incredible fishing, the crew kept everyone safe, fully engaged, and constantly laughing. It’s rare to find an outing that keeps three young anglers completely hooked without a single moment of boredom, but this crew pulled it off effortlessly. If you are looking for a stress-free, action-packed charters suited for both adults and kids, this is the absolute top standard. We came home with great fish for the freezer, unforgettable memories, and three kids already asking when we get to go back out!
Went out fishing with Capt Dave and his 1st mate Moe today in Hilton Head. The weather and fishing were both good. We caught Sea bass, Spanish mackerel and Blues. Both captain and first mate were "1st Rate " !! These guys are very friendly and knowledgeable. Their boat was well equipped and provided comfortable seating and some shade for breaks between fishing spots. Overall a great day on the water !! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fun day on the water.

We had a great time fishing! Captain put us on many fish and everyone in our crew caught some. We had so much fish it took us two days to eat it all! Great times!
Would highly recommend the longer trips. Capt Dave got us on fish and kept us reeling them in all day. Moe was very accommodating of the inexperienced anglers on board and was a wonderful first mate. We would definitely go out again and would really recommend the longer trips. Next time we will go out for the 12 hr trip

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
