Come out and join our passion for fishing from Hilton Head Island aboard the Sara Madison.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Video games in the galley incase the fish aren't cooperating. Children under 12 must wear life vests while underway, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Feel free to bring your own snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
Your excursion begins aboard a 40' Wellcraft 330 Coastal sportfishing vessel with room for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, all the essentials. There's a bathroom on board for your convenience. Capt. Mike has rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
Some essentials to bring are sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Great Hilton Head Experience.

We fished a bit out of season (mid-March), so the action was slower than usual. Even so, Capt. Mike did everything he could to get us on some fish and made sure everyone had a chance to catch one. In the end, everyone brought a fish into the boat, even if they were smaller than what we’re used to catching back in Minnesota. For us, it was simply great to be out on the water together.
It was also nice being on a larger boat. The water was fairly choppy the day we went out, and the size of the boat made the trip much more comfortable and provided some protection on a cooler day.

Great Trip - Bad Weather

Captain Mike was excellent! Great company, and extremely knowledgeable. We had some mild weather to manage and Capt. Mike knew just how to handle, changing course and navigating to calmer waters to ensure our trip was comfortable. The big fish did not cooperate but, we still caught fish and learned a lot. He’s great with kids on their first offshore trip. Can’t wait till our next trip with Capt. Mike on the Sara Madison!

8 Hour Trip AM - Midshore on May 18, 2025 • 6 adults
Planned a 8 hour offshore trip for my nephews and Dad in mid-May. Captain Mike was phenomenal to work with and was a great/timely communicator as any questions came up. Boat was very comfortable for 6. We had some trouble getting the anchor to hold early on which kept our lines out of the water for a bit. To compensate, Captain Mike gave us an extra hour of fishing time at the back end. We were very appreciative! Caught some good sized sharks, a grouper and a remora. It was impressive that Captain Mike managed everything without a first mate. He definitely works his tail off for his clients. We all enjoyed the day and made some great memories. Thanks for a great trip Mike! Hope to cross paths again someday.

By far the best fishing trip we’ve ever had!
3 Hour Trip – Shark - 1:00 PM on April 16, 2025 • 5 adults
Today was absolutely incredible. And not because we caught the biggest fish we’ve ever caught but because every need was met. Everybody caught a few fish and I was with four teenage boys. Most importantly this boat had a toilet. If you’ve ever been out fishing and not had a toilet, you understand that it can be very uncomfortable not to have one and everybody used it on our trip. This boat also is a little bit bigger and if you’ve got seasickness like I do that can make all the difference. Mike did a great job of attending to all of us while we fished. We never ran out of bait. I cannot say enough good things. I would go out with Mike again anytime and highly recommend both his services and this boat.
