Welcome and thank you for considering Tri Cape Guide Service for your day on the water.

I have been fishing the waters of Eastern NC since my childhood years, and I enjoy traveling around to take advantage of what this state's waters and different fisheries have to offer. I have truly dedicated a large portion of my life to this craft, and I am excited to share it with you.

The North Topsail Beach / Sneads Ferry area has a fantastic year-round inshore fishery. We will primarily be targeting red drum, speckled trout, black drum, and flounder along the New River, ICW, and adjacent waters.

On an inshore trip, to prevent feeling cramped and avoid hook incidents, a maximum of 3 adult anglers or 2 adults and 2 children is preferred. Please let me know in advance if children will be joining so I can have the correct size life jackets onboard.

Bottled water and cooler space will be provided on all trips. If you would like to bring a small soft-sided cooler of your own, feel free; however, please avoid large hard-sided coolers, as space becomes limited quickly.

BYOB is welcome, but please consume responsibly and avoid bringing glass bottles onboard. I also recommend a good pair of polarized sunglasses and non-spray sunscreen to enhance your experience.

I run a Tidewater 21’ Bay Boat with a Yamaha four-stroke engine and modern, top-of-the-line electronics. For tackle, high-quality light-tackle spinning equipment and artificial lures are my favorites, but there will be times when we fish live and/or dead bait depending on the target species and what conditions allow.

I offer dock pickups from your vacation rental when possible.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I look forward to working hard to ensure you have a great experience!

Half Day with Captain Johnny
4 Hour – Inshore Fishing on May 2, 2026

Had an absolute blast with Captain Johnny! He was able to put us on some BIG red drum and made it an unforgettable fishing charter. Very knowledgeable, hospitality was great, and equipment he provided was top of the line. Boat was comfortable, smooth riding, and very easy to fish from with plenty of bow platform. We definitely will be booking with Captain Johnny in the future!
