Top targets include Cobia, Redfish, Speckled Trout, Bluefin Tuna, Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, Flounder, Bluefish (Tailor), Tilefish, Sheepshead, Gray Triggerfish, and more if conditions are right. You can expect to do some sight casting, spinning, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. You're welcome to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
You'll be welcome aboard a 23' MayCraft center console that holds up to 4 passengers. It has coolers, speakers, storage, and everything you need for a productive day on the water. Also have a 18' foot Skiff that can hold 2 people for more personal and shallow fishing on the flats.
Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
A few items to bring include a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunblock (non-spray). You can bring whatever food and drinks y'all want. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

4 Hour Trip on September 22, 2026 • 1 adultBooked this trip knowing the forecast looked sketchy, so my expectations were low—but apparently nobody told Sonny. I showed up early, and he welcomed me right aboard. We headed out trolling and hooked into some Spanish mackerel before Mother Nature decided we needed a pressure washing. We called an audible and made plans for an evening round two. That evening, the wind was doing wind things, and Sonny just goes, “This looks redish we’re gonna catch some fish.” Bro must’ve had their group chat, because next thing I knew, I was ripping lips on a 40+ inch bull red! Sonny is chill, knows his stuff, and genuinely wants you to have a blast. Turned a questionable forecast into one hell of a fishing trip. If you want a captain who brings good vibes and gets you on fish, book with Sonny. I’ll absolutely be back for another round!

4 Hour Trip on August 7, 2026 • 4 adultsGreat experience! Squeezed a ton of fishing in 4 hours. We got on the bite first thing doing some trolling. Good mix of blues and nice size mackerel. Put about 15 fish on the boat. Also had a good time jigging for Sheepshead. Captain Sonny knows his stuff and is very friendly. Same goes for the first mate also. Nice size boat perfect for a family charter.. Next time we are in OBX we will be using Captain Sonny again. Would definitely recommend.

One fish or 1000, Captain Sonny made the trip an unforgettable and one of kind trip for me and my nepew. The sights, the fishing, the history, and the advice/tips and tricks about local fishing were all phenomenal and worth every cent. More so though, was the Captain, he was absolutely down to earth and hospitable in every way and truly made the trip worth it! Thank you again Captain Sonny!
