Depending on the season and conditions, you may catch Carp, Grass Carp, Smallmouth Bass, White Bass, Northern Pike, Catfish, Bluegill, Walleye, Yellow Perch, and more. Traditional rod-and-reel fishing is available, as well as exciting bowfishing and bullfrog gigging trips for those looking for a different kind of outdoor adventure.
Families and children are welcome aboard, making it a great way to spend quality time together. If you need child-sized life jackets, please ask in advance or bring your own. Bringing a few favorite snacks and drinks for younger anglers is also a good idea.
You'll fish from a fully equipped 20-foot center console boat that accommodates up to 6 guests. Quality rods, reels, tackle, and lures are provided, so you can focus on fishing and enjoying your time on the water. Live bait may also be available depending on the trip, so be sure to ask Captain James in advance.

Special 4 hours trip for Hopecauthen Freebird on July 24, 2026 • 2 adultsWe struggled to get the captain to reply to messages to book. The captain was talkative at the start of the morning but as the day went on and we weren’t catching any fish-he became very quiet which made it all the less enjoyable since we only caught one fish each. I originally asked to specialize in smallmouth bass but he didn’t seem to know much more about catching them than I did. At the end of the day, the Captain said “well I can say this was my worst day out ever”. We get that he can’t make the fish bite, but I had my own boat in town-I could have done what we did out in my own boat and saved the $155.00
