Stepping aboard the Lucas & Hannah for Captain Tom’s 12-hour marathon fishing trip felt like stepping into one of the greatest adventures of our lives. I brought my fiancée and best friend on their first offshore fishing trip, and I truly don’t know where to begin describing how incredible the experience was. From the moment you step aboard, Captain Tom makes you feel welcome, comfortable, and safe. Within minutes, you realize there is an unbelievable amount of knowledge and experience on your side. This is a family boat, and our first mate that day, Eric, is Tom’s son-in-law. Spend a little time with them and you stop feeling like customers—they genuinely make you feel like you’ve been welcomed into their family. The ride offshore alone gave me a memory I’ll carry for the rest of my life. We watched an incredible sunrise over the Atlantic, and along that orange horizon I saw my first whale breach and then its tail disappear beneath the water. At that moment, I knew we were in for a special day. And then the fishing started. Captain Tom put us on productive grounds from the very first drop. We fought fish throughout the day and came home with beautiful haddock, pollock and cusk, while also encountering squid and sharks. At one point we even had an enormous shark alongside the boat. Tom’s knowledge of these waters and their fisheries is something that simply cannot be recreated by reading a book or looking at a chart. You can tell it comes from a lifetime spent on the ocean. When I first reached out to Captain Tom, I told him we wanted the authentic Gloucester fishing experience. Captain Tom, Eric, and the Lucas & Hannah exceeded that expectation in every possible way. What impressed me most, though, went beyond catching fish. Captain Tom genuinely cares about the people who step onto his boat. He understands that he isn’t just taking someone fishing—he’s helping create memories that they may carry for the rest of their lives. He takes tremendous pride in giving you the best experience possible, and you feel that throughout the entire trip. Whether this is your first time offshore or you’ve been fishing your entire life, I could not recommend Captain Tom enough. Families, couples, friends, experienced anglers or complete beginners—if you want a captain who cares deeply about his people, his fishery, and giving you a genuine Gloucester experience, look no further. We stepped aboard as customers and left feeling like we had made friends for life. Captain Tom and Eric, thank you for giving the three of us an adventure we will never forget. We were truly blown away by the entire experience, and I already can’t wait until the next time I’m standing on the deck of the Lucas & Hannah. Five stars doesn’t begin to cover it.

We had an amazing time! Capt. Tommy put us on some fish within a few minutes of leaving the dock! Caught a bunch of mackerel and then headed for deeper water where we caught more cod than we could count! We also caught keeper cusk, squid, a redfish, and even had a great white shark sighting! Was an incredible day on the water, and capt and his mate Norm were great guys to spend the day with! Highly recommend!

Captain Tom Has been putting me and others on fish for over 40+ years. with his experience with local waters and his knowledge of the boat, electronics, and the target fish you're after. He is the guy you need to go out with. We caught many fish Cod, Haddock, Pollack, Cusk, halibut, Red fish shark Blue fin tuna yellow fin You name it This captain can put you on the fish you want to catch.. Mike morrissey

We went with Captain Tom on beautiful Monday. He put us on mackerel right away and we went for striped bass in the rivers that feed Ipswich bay. The fish didn't cooperate as much as we would have liked. Captain Tom moved us around to different spots and he had a number of strategies to entice a few bass on to our lines. Very enjoyable day and I would certainly recommend his charter to anyone
