At Baracuda Fishing, their aim is to help you catch fish and have a great day on the water. Join Captain Patrice Momplé in Mont Choisy, where you can enjoy excellent nearshore and offshore fishing in just a few hours. Come aboard and discover why Mauritius is considered one of the best places in the region for reeling in a big catch!
You will fish aboard a 23’ cruiser, built by Capt. Patrice himself in 1996. This craft was restored in 2015 and is currently powered by a 160 HP Yanmar inboard engine, with the addition of a Suzuki outboard engine for backup and extra security.
On board, you will find everything you need for big game fishing, including outriggers, a fighting chair, and a First Mate to assist in any way you need. Capt. Patrice takes up to four passengers on board. Children age 12 and above are welcome.
The best time to cast lines is early in the morning, when the sun is still rising and fish are biting the most. Depending on the tides and the weather, Capt. Patrice will take you out on the water when you have the highest chance of reeling in a catch.
You will troll to the fishing grounds and then fish for live bait on the spot. Depending on the time of year, you will target Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Marlin, and other big game species. You can come aboard for several hours and fish nearshore, or spend half the day onboard and travel up to 12 nautical miles offshore.
Baracuda Fishing provides a fishing license and gear by Penn and Shimano, featuring both light and heavy tackle. Fish caught during your trip goes to the crew, but you may request to take one home to enjoy for yourself.
Come aboard for a memorable experience fishing off the coast of Mauritius!
